Has anyone ever wondered why the game is called PlaneShift...

I would have to say because there are many other different planes

There are different realms for sure, and such could also be called \"planes\"

At least that\'s my guess..

*newbie post*

comment: this is great

on-topic:

I think the setting is really great as it is \"different\" and it appears to be designed to explain in-game out-of-game technical limitations.  For example:

planes:  you just create different planes for different games and connet them togther.

Yliakum:  it is enclosed in an small finite area, not the whole planet or plane.  It set the expectation of limited space.

Food and Ecology:  the setting info explain sufficiently about the ecology of the realm.  I\'m interested to hear how life/death will be implemented.

The she-to-he transformation and single gender Kran(sp) are also quite interesting elements.

Instead of wondering why a things is called \"blabla\" or what this place is called \"blabla\", perhaps it would be more interesting to wonders what is this giant world wich has an underground and a surface.

Doesn\'t this make your imagination goes far?
It\'s probably not the earth...

Anyway you\'re in a stalagtite, the name will not change that. ;)

What I got from the overview was that Yliakum was the entire stalagmite, which was pretty much a huge city (with some interpersed rural farmland) that is comprised of 8 levels...

That was pretty much said already in this thread, was there a need to conjure up a one-month thread to say it again?

I think it was a good idea if someone can draw a detail map of planeshift and/or a map of the city of hydlaa with important sites like tavern, library, etc...

I saw somewhere they already finished some sewers, so what is there to drain in Yliakum? and there is TOO MANY QUESTIONS i cant stand it! :( :(

Planeshift will rule, btw!
-What if I press this then?
*Are you mad?!?
-No.
*Good, now you can press it.
-I dont want to anymore.
*Who are you again?

*But who will press the button?!
-Why dont you do it yourself?
*I cant.

If all the levels are stacked on top of each other, doesn?t that mean only the top most level gets the light from the crystal? Or is it that each level has their own crystal?
As I stand here looking into the heavens, I begin to see forms familiar to me. All whom I have killed have come to mock me. I turn away, only to see the abyss, enticing me towards it. There is no turning back now, only one way to go. So I head into the abyss, the nothingness, the future unseen.
