the building thing is great, but it could be chaotic if everybody builds everywhere ; let\'s say you have a \"dev guild\" who has to agree with the place you want to build it

Or you can divide the land into \"squares\", and you\'re only allowed to build on a few of them?

animals wont be able to fight is what ur saying then? if they are only pets...

and how high should we be able to build? perhaps the hight u can make it depends on how wide the base is...

God bless,

No, no, thats not what I meant. The beasts that fights for the wizard will vanish after some time, whilst the beast that the animal taimer taimed/charmed will remain by the trainers side until it dies.

ok, thats good :)

but i think if the animal isnt fully killed, after it \"falls\" some one comes up and finishes it off, then it would be killed. but if it just falls, it should be able to be healed, over time of course.

I?m not trying to be the only naysayers in this feel-good thread but I believe the concept called a tent.  You can have big tents huge tents small tents that doesn?t require a builder to put one up.  They have been around for a long time and they work fabulously well.  You can move them around in a cart and they set up almost anywhere.

It has already been stated that buildings can be built in this game.  But guilds will be building them and they won?t be cheap.  Most buildings require heavy beans of wood or moving large amounts of stone around. It doesn?t make much sense to build an entire building just to tear down and move it.  The construction materials are heavy and you?d be hard-pressed to find a building in ancient times that isn?t incredibly heavy.

You can also have covered wagons.  It?s kind of a building on wheels.  You could move around in a gypsy style band and set up as soon as the horses stop.  It would also provide protection when moving and going through encounter rich areas.  One could go from city to city selling products made in the previous city.
Doing things just for the halibut.

You have a very good point, although I don\'t 4 large boards 2 small boards and 4 or so beams would weigh much.  But you\'re right.  Matierials are heavy, which makes a new job, cargo moving.

The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

This is such a great idea!
But if i am a Hammerwielder i cna take as job Builder but i could smith on my onw ;).

But Drilexer, farmers arent useless, cous megicians (Magic) can\'t do any tricks without the needed herbs :), \"FARMER!!!! GET ME SOME HERBS!\" ;)

Building a House/Guild/Fortress or whatever should take a long time, mabey about 10 gameplay hours.

And you should be able to place buildings everywere in the forest/wildey, and in city\'s you first get permission to build and they say what places are availible (you get a map showing were you can rent ground, you click were you wanna rent a house and you pay immediatly for the first week or month and you can build...

A peace of ground should be worth 10.000 trias for a living room, storage, and 2 other rooms (sell room, work room) around 5 meters wide and 5 meter depth or something like that.

Comments please :)

10 trias is a little weak I think.  Though there would be taxes I presume.  I think we should be able to incorporate (right word?) towns too.  Then elect corrupt politicians and ruin everything! :P

Lol :P.

I think you first should make a \"Ingame drawing\" of your building.
You open the editor you see a peace of map in the editor were your standing, then you select the area you want to build on.

Then you get a (empty) green screen (the grass), and on the left or right of you you have a tool window with all options, like the door wall lamp everything.
And you can move 3D in the editor and you place everything.

You save this file/call this letter \"My Building\" or something else, and then you get to the boss of the city and ask for permission to build that there and how etc. etc. , all the information is on the letter, you wrote all the information at the back of the paper :).

Name:
Guild/Clan:
House/Fortress/Factory/Farm/Store etc.:
And other stuff...

And its done after some time (1 min, of bored waiting :P) with talking to you: \"Yea, your name is Kennyyyyy, alrighty and uhmmm you want to start a store, nice\", \"Your 15 years old and your from The Netherlands, hmmmmmmuhuh, yes\"

He can say no or yes ofcourse thats to the dev team :P.

And if it says yes, he will put his sign on the paper and now you are ALLOWED to build the building were you wantet, and there are Guards patrolling and they can ask you if you are allowed to build there, you show the paper and they go on, if you dont have the paper (you can build everywere anytime) and the guards come to you they will crush your building and arrest you, and you have to pay some trias to get out, if you dont have money your waiting in a cell block and a friend can give you some money and then you can get out.

And if you building is done and (you were allowed to build) you will have some fun :D.

If i am gonna build a store im gonna need allot of space for putting my stuff in the room :), becouse i get the weirdest things and the cheapest sometimes like in the-game-we-shall-not-name, i hold many of those stupid keys :P, and mabey here allot of beer glasses to sell to Kada-El ^_^.

Who knows.

My fantacy is roling now, i can tell you my adventure but i wont :D, cous else id expect to much of planeshift, i will expect something real life, thats not cool if it wont come out :P.

Stupid talking talking talking, blablabla.
Have some blablabla with me to comeon, you can do it, do the blablabla, blablabla.
Ohyea, im doing the blablablab bladieblablabla woohooo!

haha, the only problem with this option is that as I am not a great artist I will never be able to design anything better than a large pile of goo building - 2D of course ;)

I think there should be a huge selection of premade buildings that builders have to find/buy the blueprints to (yes there were blueprints in medieval times just not as organized) them and then they would need the required skill/materials to pruduce the building.  Not to burst your bubble but I think speaking to the devs about designing new building types would be a must since we dont want disco joints and out of charactwer shit popping up in the lowest level of Yliakum by Talaad\'s temple :)

Hehehe, afcourse there are premade buildings you can choose out :), and premade buildings should be cheaper to build too.

And people that make buildings in the editor, they can sell it to the city boss for 50 trias or so, and then it goes to the premade buildings in a special map.

Nice nice nice :D

as long as the premade buildings and the custom buildings are arranged in seperate GUIs, I\'d go for this path

I think that it\'s a great idea but I also have some stuff to add. :)

- You have to clear the land first (take some time to do)

- Fend off attacks from other players/animals/monsters

- Maintain your building in top condition or else it will fall apart

Just a few ideas. :) Great idea!
