Time of test: 12:52 AM (July 27th, 2003)
OS: Windows XP Home
Processor: P4 - 2.4GHZ
RAM: 1.2 GB SDRAM
Video Card: ATI Radeon 9100
Video Card Memory: 128 MB
PS Client Version: Mollecular Blue (updated)
OpenGL or Safe Mode: OpenGL
Description of the bug:
This is quite a long description. The things stops and freezes up at the loading world screen (ok, so it did that on my other computer) but now here\'s the weird part. When I check out how much RAM it uses, it continually climbs up, it reached 500MB RAM when I stopped it from loading. The first frame of the overworld appeared, but nothing worked after that. The client didn\'t crash, it just froze up.
Here\'s the wierdest part: I tried reinstalling the game today. Since I didn\'t like the speed I had a year ago. Now the game doesn\'t even want to load on a computer that\'s 5X faster!
Now yes, I\'ve made it so that the preferences makes it work in 16BPP and textures, I make it work with Win98/WinME, I can connect. I was waiting for an hour and it still didn\'t load! (I went to get a cup of coffee)
I\'ve updated my Vcard drivers, I\'ve updated my BIOS, I\'ve updated my WinXP with all of the nessessairy and reccomended updates, I\'ve checked all of the FAQs here.
Now here\'s the big knocker. I was able to load the game on a P Celeron 333MHZ, 58MB RAM, NO Vcard (it\'s an integrated chip) and I had 30 fps. This completely boggled my mind, since it only took 15 minutes for the world to start with that computer, after a fresh installation.
Please help!
