rather annoying problem...

ok so i decide to play plane shift here and i try to log on but it stops at the initializing world part as a matter of fact its stuck at that part right now.... i have already made a character and was playing it all day but after i got off for a while it stops there... now i did check out the faq and did the part where it told me to change the compatability to win 98 and all that but still no luck... i also got logged on as guest somehow when i was trying to get on my char... the problem was it looked like i fell off the world because i couldnt move and the city was like floating over my head and half the loading screen was still on there but i was able to talk to people and they told me to try /spawn which didnt work either... so any help is much appreciated

ok these devs are driving me crazy we all have this problem but they aint doin crap but coming up with stupid answere dont they have a patch or something!?!?! i mean god i made several post of this still they dance along pretty and all like we dont have anything wrong with the game and they give us stupid answere i mean no offence devs ive psted everything and you still dont replie and im going on the edge of insainaty cuze i want to play ps

lordofchaos calm down this is only a pre-alpha development, its not even a game yet. Everybodys got problems and bugs just give it some time and you may get some help.

If it makes you feel any better Im having trouble logging in today unlike the last few days.

Terro theres some info regarding this in some other threads, cant remember what to do as Ive never had that problem but give it some time and somebody who knows what to do will reply

welll hell i hope it is soon cuze i need ps and quik nottin else this peice of crap cumpeter can play cuze it wont let me install a higher direct x its 7.0 and it only stays at that

i was able to log on eventualy but now am having troubles again... i know this is the very alpha stage and i have to commend the creators on making it since its such an awesome game already i cant even wait for more things to show up... im going to keep my complaints to a bare minimum since i know everyone has alot to do as it is

Yeah, we are doing nothing and we sit around and twiddle our thumbs all day.  We even put bugs in just to annoy people.  Maybe we should just conform to this attitude and never post on the forums again or never help people out in IRC.   You can download all the source code and try to fix it yourself then.

The simple matter is that this is a work in progress and it will not work for everybody, It\'s just the way the progress goes.  If you cannot accept that then there is not much I can do.  Insulting us with your childish attitude when you have 0 idea of how damn hard we work isn\'t helping your case much.  \"no offence\" though.

The /spawn command has been fixed for a long time, but you have to run the updater first. You should do it now so that you are ready if it happens again :

• Start -> Programs -> Planeshift -> Planeshift Updater
• Log into PS
• Type the /spawn command

If happens sometimes. Also there was an issue on the server side, that has been fixed now. When you have this message, wait for about one minute and try to connect again.

everything seems to be in order now... i got logged on last night after a few tries and played around that problem i had must have been a one time thing... the best way to solve the problem of it freezing at the loading world screen is just to try and start the game again... though i have gotten an error like on all xp machines when soemthing crashes and it askes if you want to send an error report to microsft... i did get that for the psclient.exe more than onece but havent got it 2 times in a row yet... my account name is Terro if you still want to check it out and for future refference here is my computer specs...

amd atlon 1gh tbird
320mb of ram
geforce2 mx400 graphics card
a very good (and expensive) no name mobo
i also have a cable modem

I\'m with acraig on this, at least in sentiment.

Sometimes people refusing to try things, refusing to read the instructions (and follow them), refusing to search the forums for answers, and then being petulant about their stupid struggles sometimes starts to seem like more than stupidity, but just being spoiled brats.

We did the best we could with MB.  If you have problems, people here will try to help you.  Try to research your problems and try to stay reasonable.

If no solutions work, delete it from your machine and wait to try the next version.  It cost you nothing.
