Its time for a newsletter explaining and giving fixes

Listen I have had every scenario listed in all the groups here, and heard a dozen fixes ... that do not fix.

I creat a character, can not log onto server:

1.)ID & password do not match.
2.)LinkDead
3.)Database error

list of fixes so far:

1.) ask for account info. or have account deleted to retry
2.) 2 differnt dns 203.81.47.27 and then the 203.81.47.74
3.)tweak router for udp port 13331

I get letters in mail saying server problems are fixed... and if I finally get through all the problems I get server not available... its like a slot matchine you put a quarter in and get any of the errors above with any fix below that fixes nothing.

My os is win2000 pro, GeForce2 GTS, on a Linksys Router, with my firewall currently off, using a DSL connection.  I have tried to start the following characters (which are listed as valid) Shinsha, Shinjin, Willowsong AND I CAN NOT PLAY ANY OF THEM OR ACCESS THE GAME!!!!

So please delete these character and send out a newsletter of how to correct this.

Shinsha, first you should read the IMPORTANT topics on the top of this forum, your problems have probably a solution there.

If you had a \"linkdead\" error while uploading your character the first time, this was due to a temporary network problem. Now everything should be fine : in such case the solution is trying again.

Now you character has a problem in the database, check this self-explanatory topic :

Important: If you get a database error in account

The correct IP is now 203.81.47.74, the other one being an old address, but you can also enter planeshift.fragnetics.com in the server field if you prefer.

If the ID of your new character is rejected at its creation, it\'s because the name has already been taken by someone else. Don\'t forget that currently more than 67000 characters are registered in the database.


And don\'t let this firewall disabled with a DSL connection !! Look for the right way to configure it in this forum with the current IP.
