Joining other people's battles and team list
« on: August 10, 2003, 07:50:42 pm »
You know in Tibia how when someone is fighting a monster you can also fight it no matter what and the other person gets ticked off because you took his kill and stole his loot? I think there should be an end to that.

So I propose that there should be a system that would ask the person who is fighting a monster given the selection yes or no if he needs help for lack of a better statement.

For Example:
Bob is fighting a rat and some guy named Don wanted to also fight the rat. Don would have a selection on his screen, that says \"Permission to join fight.\" Then he\'ll click on that selection, then that message will be sent to Bob. On Bob\'s screen it\'ll say, \"Let Don join fight?\" Then Bob could choose either yes or no. If he chooses yes then Don can join the fight, if Bob says no then Don can\'t join the fight.

Team List:

I think on the screen while your playing the game, there should be a list of names in your group/team when you have created a temporary one.

You can see on the lower right hand corner there\'s a list of everyone\'s names in that group, something similiar should also be done in my own opinion.

My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

kuiper... you and your final fantasy XI addiction... I see your point about \'kill stealing\', but I don\'t think even that is suffiecient because you see - your system of permissable fighting is only initiated once a PC attacks an NPC (or maybe PC also).  Well if someone is capable of stealing a kill from someone - there is no reason they cant just run ahead of you or shoot arrows over your shoulder to get the first hit in so that you are unable to fight anything - no matter what system is used...  Another problem comes in when a player is swarmed and has to fight back fast and furious like - what if they need help and someone asks to join their party but since they are so busy they either dont notice or accidentally cancel and then are overwhelmed by the mob - or maybe the other player joins the \'alliance\' against the mob but due to lag or any other problems is unable to help in time... there are many common scenarios that are just as helpful as the kill stealers are bad... not to mention that most kill stealing is not done maliciously or to cause grief.. half the reports of it are just in the reporter\'s head becuase many gamers get WAY to serious.

In short I dislike this idea and the only way to implement it effectively would be instanced dungeons... but that\'s not my kind of an MMORPG :P

i think whoever initiated the battle gets the loot + exp. :)

this would be good for multiple groups of different people to work together to pwn a really powerful creature... you could have a command to send a message to [this] group, which would be really good for communication. :))
Precious and beutiful, it is happy. The only time when it is not is when it is in a shape of a tear.

okay Drixiler lets say a monster had a 1000 hit points and you did all the way up to 999 damage to the monster and some noob comes up and hits it for 1 point and stole the loot, ya I\'m sure people are going to like that. Secondly if someone wanted to shoot an arrow over your head, they could just put a system where you can\'t attack a monster unless its not fighting already. Thirdly that\'s why you\'d travel in teams or groups so you don\'t have to worry about monsters swarming you, that\'s kinda another reason I believe guilds are encouraged in this game...

I don\'t believe there\'s nothing wrong with liking FFXI, technically it does say:

The Wish List Forum is reserved to give good ideas on what you would like to see in the game. Will be good to post here also ideas taken from other games.

I know what you meant by kill stealing (which is the correct name for it).  But I still refer to my previous rebuttal, since your last post was little more than a definition.

As to FFXI - I love Final Fantasy Games.  I\'ve played every English translation and I don\'t intend to stop at 10. :P

i do like that idea of the first person to attack gets the loot. It also keeps things safe, like if you are on a raid with your entire guild taking down a zone, the puller will be able to get the loot, but he should be able to assign privlidges. That may be hard though, i dont know
