PSSETUP Bug (?!)
« on: August 20, 2003, 07:25:38 pm »
I can\'t adjust my video settings. I want to play MB Fullscreen, so someone told me you can change this with pssetup.exe

I had tried that setup before, but when I start it up I get:
Fatal Error
Can\'t create DirectDraw device

As a result nothing happens and I can\'t adjust the video settings!!

I use Molecular Blue v0.2.010
My system specs:
-AMD Athlon XP 2400+
-Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro 128 Mb DDR (using the newest Catalyst reference driver)
-512 Mb DDR

So I would say the bug is caused by MB not thx to my pc... since I only got problems with MB and not with other games.

Ok, let\'s start shall we?  PS has been known to:
Not start at all
Take hours to load.
Lag fast computers to heck and back again.
Do as you said.
Crash on being resumed to normal size.
And an assortment of other problems. :(

So, Yes, it isn\'t your computer

Sorry about those problems, but Welcome to Planeshift.

I think I\'ve heard several people say that PlaneShift hates Radeon cards. This may be the direct cause of the problem and unfortunately I don\'t know of a way around it.

You can however change the settings manually. Open psclient.cfg in notepad and look for Video.ScreenWidth and Video.ScreenHeight and change the values to that of your current desktop resolution.

Yeah you\'re right I\'ve read other threads about the PsClient with people getting the same error.
PS hates Radeon yes :P

K I will try it manually (yeah I get it you use notepad... doh I edit my CS with that too :P).

Thx for the help

Hmz I don\'t seem to be able to find it... that Video.ScreenWidth & Video.ScreenHeigth don\'t exist in the .cfg file (I\'ve tried all of the .cfg file... nothing found :( ).

Perhaps if I would get a .cfg file wich is already correctly configured.... .

I don\'t know where you\'ve been looking, but when I look in my planeshift.cfg file it\'s located at the top in the first line of the file.

In previous posts there was referred to psclient.cfg, not planeshift.cfg

I had already thought about planeshift.cfg... and tried some... but that didn\'t work.

BUT I FOUND IT!
The Video.Screenwidth & Video.ScreenHeight weren\'t in it... so I tried something... .
I added:
Video.ScreenWidth = 1024 Video.ScreenHeight = 768
to it (with that black thingy between them.... )
I tried it, and it worked :D

So that\'s the solution.

Now I only need to know the \'tag\' \'code\' or whatever you want to call it, to make it FULLSCREEN....
video = fullscreen?

So could someone look it up in his planeshift.cfg file and give me the code for it? (since mine doesn\'t contain it  8o ) Thank you!
