Problems /:
« on: August 29, 2003, 05:52:59 am »
Hi :) I\'m getting problems trying to create the game from the bat file.
I double click the run me first.bat and the first 10 times orso It appeared and Dissapeared the same second. After the tenth orso try it finally worked, counted up part 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and then a exe file appeared, i clicked that, have done so about 10 million times and nothing happens, it appears as a dos window, then just disintegrates into my pc, there\'s no plane shift program running in my task window when i cntrl+alt+delete I\'ve kept the files together, I have the run_me_first.bat parts 1-5 and the \"PlaneShiftV0.2.010.exe\" Clicking on it does nothing. /: Hopefully someone can help, as I downloaded this on my 56k and i don\'t want it to be in vain, thanks alot.

it disintigrates?
say jntstv, do you happen to have a virus scanner?
cuz you may need to get one.
also, post your system specs.

That is definately an odd problem- try clicking run on the start menu, then type command.exe. Then make sure you are in the desktop folder(it defaults to it if you don\'t have any windows open), and type the run me first name, and you\'ll see what it flashes. If its says copy: fle not found, the files are missnamed.
The only other thing I can think of is, is that you dowloaded a garbled copy. You\'ll have to download the whole thing over again.

Indeed, quite odd.  Well, you can try to redownload the batch file, it could have been corrupted (Although, its a text file, so you can open it in notepad and see)

You could always manually splice the files with copy(Different syntax in 9x):
Code: [Select]

copy /B PSV0.2.010.Part1+PSV0.2.010.Part2+PSV0.2.010.Part3+PSV0.2.010.Part4+PSV0.2.010.Part5 install.exe /B

Although, it sounds like the problem was with a corrupted part, so use this tool and check the MD5s against these:
PSV0.2.010.Part1:
   598d3de9b925f94f6327bfa4ce45326b
PSV0.2.010.Part2:
   3efab6d2eb8bd55f9ef02a6d7029411b
PSV0.2.010.Part3:
   a2754a8c024d1a90cbef4db8248db649
PSV0.2.010.Part4:
   8ec033d42c7d7667734591671ce44478
PSV0.2.010.Part5:
   0a45a48de4761bce7732e8eef0f2aef3

Then just redownload the file that doesn\'t match.
