As a final comment from me: advertising in established communities to people who are content with where they are is bad form.  There are plenty of forums dedicated to general gaming, free gaming, or MMO gaming that might welcome such advertisements.  There are also websites who\'s only purpose is to list these free games so others can find them.

If, in fact, someone named Planeshift registered to another established community to advertise, then I would say that this person is also in bad form.  I doubt seriously that it was a developer, however in the past the Public Relations devision of the PS team was very popular.  Their responsibilities did include: \"bring net-surfers to the PlaneShift page.\"  But just because PlaneShift has done it in the past does not make it proper netiquette.  Haven\'t we all been blasted with enough advertisements?

On a side note, I probably would have ignored this thread entirely if it had originated in our off topic forum ;)

Not advertising would show more respect.

And I agree the forum descriptions are ambiguous.  Maybe you should have hung around a while first to figure things out.
Also notice, nowhere does it say, \"Advertise Here.\"

Whether it was Talad or someone pasting what he had written, it is still in bad form.

If you\'re going to advertise though, summerbreakwhatever, at least make a few posts to make some friends first, so people take you seriously.

By the way, guys, am I respectable enough to start advertising my patented range of hair growth products yet?
