well i\'ve never played a mmorpg so to be honest i haven\'t a clue what to expect (i\'ve only played some sp rpgs as well as a splash of pen\'n\'paper) so you\'ll have to forgive me if i have a completely wrong view of what planeshift is supposed to be. with that said i was wondering about a couple of general things (and hopefully i won\'t just be asking what has been asked and answered ad infinitem).

i was having a go at character creation (to be honest i haven\'t gone much further as i\'m still unsure what the whole mmorpg is all about) and a couple of things struck me

1) will there be any role for pcs in the politics or economics of the realm?

to me discriptions of the game suggest the possibility but during character creation there appears to be a lack of relevant skills or guilds

2) would there be a relevance to guilds other than as a means of secondary skills?

with this i mean will npcs treat pcs differently depending on guild and/or will different guilds receive differ info regarding quests and such

3) will there be any real addition to the skills list as to me the appear to me to be very combat orientated?

in this what i\'m really asking is whether the game itself will be designed so that i can wander about talking to others and generally enjoying the atmosphere or will i be pretty much exclusively killing (or of course being killed by) creatures

if these queries appear somewhat obvious i apologise again and to my defence point out that i\'ve never played a mmorpg and don\'t know what to expect

thanks for reading

1) Absolutely!! :)

2) Guilds currently are entirely player-run.  I think you may see some npcish guilds in the future, but for now some trades lack guilds.

3)Yes there will, you could run a bed & breakfast if you wanted too.

Unfortunately PS is a tech demo right now.
The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM
