Kran=Karn?

Any of you play Magic: The Gathering?
If you follow the story line, you may notice the similarities between Karn, the big metal guy, and the Kran, the big rock people. Not much difference in the names or appearence, is there?
Anybody else notice that?

If there is of course some similitaries between the names and the appearence, i really don\'t see any similitaries between the stories.

As far as I know, Krans (who are a race) were created by error when Talad tries to create a race like Laanx did with the Lemurs.
But Karn, Silver Golem, (who is legendary) was created by Urza as a part of the \"Heritage\" (name in French, I don\'t know if it the same in English)

Actually, I think that they are quite similar... although, I dont think that this is a problem.

They are very similar in appearance, if you ask me.. But they are still made of different materials, so they aren\'t exactly the same..

Oh, and elscouta, I think it is called \"Legacy\" in english... Or at least my \"brothers war\" book says so :P:P

Bah, they have probably take some inspiration...

But is it really different to using dwarfs/elfs/dragons?
Not really. And the two games are too differents to risk a lawsue. I hope... :-/

And planeshifter have left the world of Magic since 2 year

Yes, that can be similar, and you could even guess that maybe someone took inspiration. I am not saying this is the case, since I don\'t believe it is, but if this would be the case, you would be surprised to know who did it, since the first incarnations of Planeshift (with those names and concept art too of course) existed and were public before expansions to other games were out.

I dunno if that\'s right, but whatever.

I had noticed the \"Planeshift\" name thing when I did a search for Planeshift on google.  I got all kinds of Magic-card sites.  I hadn\'t known about the Karn/Kran thing.  I agree that it isn\'t all that big of a deal though.
