well that just sounds like a normal quest to obtain a certain item.  maybe that particular idea for a relic is not good.  I meant to show what it required to own a relic.

for example, to own some relics you would require to kill a certain type of monster once a day.  or you would have to pour some ingredient on a relic every week or you would have to do a hard timed quest to permenantly own the relic.  This way it wouldn\'t be easy to keep an item that would give you bonus in certain thing, and if the requirements are not meant, the relics would dissapear from a player.

Well, it shouldn\'t be \'weekly\' or \'daily\', but IN-game. Like every 10 hours of playing or something.

no, that\'s what I meant, weekly or daily of real time, even if you are not online.  that way it won\'t be easy to keep relics and players who quit would loose the relics so that other can own them.

I think it\'s an even worse idea to have the unique\'s go from player to player... I stand by being able to have multiple copies of a unique (perhaps making them no-drop)
