I'm new, help me out!

OK, I\'m new to this game...
I am currently downloading it right now, but just want to ask a few questions.

- What are the in game skills, or ways to make money - such as fishing, or mining.

- Are there quests? I love quests!

- Can you go around in a certain area, killing other players - like the \'Wilderness\' in RuneScape (which if you have played, you will understand me).

Aye PsYcHoTiC let me help you out here.

This game is pre-alpha tech demo. This term sounds a bit technically, what it basically is all about: You can\'t do anything except running around, talking, and searching for crystals. For more, you\'ll have to wait for the next versions. I hope you are patient enough...Most newbies flee instantly...don\'t be coward aye?

The game will be great later, but for now, just keep up with the community here on the boards, they\'ll prevent you from leaving planeshift

All that you ask and more! But for some of the things (like player killing etc) you\'ll have to wait till the next release due soon. I know I am waiting for it like crazy as are most of the other players. Right now you can earn money(ah the money, sweet money ), you can do a few quests and you can get to know the ingame community.  Check out the forums for detailed info. I reccommend the guilds forum and the Wish list forum.

I doubt that PK will be in CB, or in any release for that instance. Arenas, yes. But all-out PK? Not likely.

All of the planned skills, races, economy, goverment, setting etc can be found on the main website. None of these are currently implemented, however.

Yes there is. Right now there are 2 quests to find and complete. These involve talking to many different NPCs and guessing the right thing to say to them. Quite frustrating, but it helps the developers to improve dialogue and make things more natural. There are no rewards for these quests other than self-satisfaction.

Not yet. PK rules are not set in stone at this stage, however it is likely that free PK will only be allowed in certain areas. There will be combat arenas and guildwars, however.

And you should probably join a guild. Right now, with nothing else to do, guilds are pretty major (though they can\'t really do much).
