Currency and Items

If you ask me, I am going to be so pissed when CB comes out and all the files get reset (no guild, no money, no weapons, that\'s right! NO NOTHING!) Is there any way that tria and rubies can wind up being the same somehow and we all can just keep what we\'ve worked for FOR A YEAR? You devs have to know that you\'ll be losing a big number of your player when CB comes out since they all know they\'ll lose everything...

You really think people will leave because they lose a couple of crystals and some swords?

I somehow seriously doubt that.

If it was up to me I would also just wipe the entire db. The db for CB probably has a complete different structure. What\'s the point of going through all the hassle of transferring player accounts to the new db for a pre-alpha tech demo.
I\'d say leave it and just get rid of all the old accounts.

But this has been talked about in other threads allready, just go there.

Somethings must be sacrificed for the way of the new. I wouldn\'t mind if they wiped out the database. I\'m gonna be like Vengeance on this one,

Pretty much the only reason there are gems in the game right now is to give those people that are really bored something to do besides walk around and chat.  That\'s all, they were just put in there to keep people entertained until CB comes out.  ;)

There has been talk about some of the very active players to be able to keep their stuff, but as mentioned before there are like thousands of accounts and trying to convert them all over to CB is just a waste of time.  I\'m sure the devs would rather do something more fulfilling, like work on making Planeshift a reality  :)

Aye no one here will flee because they lost some items... We know better than that :D We here know that planeshift will rule this universe when it comes out, so we can be patient and we can wait, and like Xan said, them crystals were only a way to keep the people safe from boredom. They served their purpose well :D

When they released MB, there was discussion about wiping the database  when new versions come, and the devs said that the database will be wiped many times when the versions change.

hmmm, how come i remember it being said that the crystals are there just to have something to do. i was fully aware (and probably most players) that in the next release there\'ll be no crystals and (probably) no other items from this version. - that\'s nothing new :D

Indeed. If you\'re going to be \'so pissed\' about losing something that will have little or no purpose later in development, you shouldn\'t be playing a Tech Demo.

I don\'t think that the devs should keep accounts for certain players only (maybe just the nick and pass, but not the inventory). They either should wipe the enitre database (bad idea) or keep it (good idea, with some way of marking only accounts that have been used in let\'s say the past month for transfer to CB).

Why is it such a bad idea?

You never know, the devs might actually need to reset everything. Your characters have to be remade anyway, if certain at-creation-bonuses will be implemented.

People think they\'re losing something they worked for. Crystals were never meant to be worked for. They\'re a distraction, a way to keep players entertained untill the next release, and a tool for bugtesting. Same goes for weapons.

Believe me, you\'re not losing out. You\'ll just be equal with everyone else who is starting the new version. That is fair.

I say what I want to say... And instead of telling him all the reasons why I think what he said was stupid, I just summed it all up in one easily recognizable word...

if that is to such an offence, I could write half a page about why I said what I said...

Have a nice day...

No need to write half a page, but simply saying \"n00b\" is an insulting comment. However much he is a n00b in your opinion, I\'d rather nobody start any dispites here, \'kay? :)

It is only insulting if you choose to look on it that way :P

oh, come on, a little dispute now and then (even though it\'s over such a rediculous thing such as this) is a welcome relief.. at least IMO :P:P

Erm, mogura, technically I WOULD be losing out... I\'ll lose my headstart.
Even though crystals were never meant to be worked for, a lot of people still worked for them (and the weapons, don\'t forget those puppies).
