Hey, uh... yeah, I\'m a newbie (and by newbie I mean I am dl the second file). I was wondering if this is anything like UO? I was a GM once on a shard. I read the 40 answered questions. So there is no battle system eh? Well, what do you mean the PS release? You mean we will have to download all of the files all over again? So for right now you can basically check stuff out and chat? Will this remain free forever? I can\'t wait until I can play! Well, I guess I\'ll see everyone in game!!

Love Forever,
Hivardi

Heya Hivardi :)
1.) This game will always be free, since it\'s open-source.

2.) This is just a mere tech-demo, meaning that there will be bigger releases in the future, hopefully in december.

3.) All you can do at the moment is chat, explore, collect crystals and do two quests.

Cheers.
Browsing the forums when I\'m bored, nothing more.

Aha!  Greetings Havardi!

I thought I should clarify something regarding the game being free.  Yes, the software is and will always be free.  There is one thing, though, that could at some date theoretically be charged for: hosting a server.

Of course, if the software is free, and if a server begins to charge people (aside from perhaps a small amount of advertising revenue), then of course someone will take the server software, start it up on his own server, and let people play for free.  So, although it\'s technically possible and perfectly legal, you\'ll probably never see the Planeshift team require payment.

And BTW, Caldazar, good job with the picture in the signature...now have it tell me what kernel I\'m using.  ;-)

I remember seeing a page that would show my Windows desktop in a window, and it was supposed to scare you into thinking that your system was so vulnerable that anyone could see the desktop.  I wonder what it would look like on a Gnome desktop...

Read my Say\'s Law paper on my homepage!
I\'m here to test Linux PS and maybe find a friend or even a girlfriend, and jump from rooftop to rooftop.  ;-)

I really cant wait to play this game, i heard some pretty good comments about it, and i surely will enjoy it.

I am playing a 2d mmorpg for free now, but this is just perfect, i am not downloading yet, because i am at school now lol :)

Luckily i have fast internet so i can play this game real soon... i have one question though.

Is your character totally free to develop him/her by itself, or are there some limitations in the game...

In other words, im planning on making an assassin guild, and then can be hired to kill, is this possible, and is it not forbidden to do this.

(i now that its hard to get known that u can be hired to kill, but im a very good role player, trust my word :P)

Thx anyway !

sure you can create a guild that is for hire why not, it is all about how you make your guild rules on paper ( in this case site ) but isn\'t the bism a good place to look since they are the same ;) except they are not a guild
