Jobs
« on: October 20, 2003, 03:23:03 am »
There are boatloads of different jobs that are going to be implemented, and already some in.  For many of them I see the usefulness, but other I do not.  Maybe you guys could help me understand.

I can see how alchemists and healers and such are meant to make potions and food and such.  What about Teachers, an already implemented job?

Would you go to a local school and teach kids how to play nice?  It says it pays well and that teachers keep most of their knowledge \'in books\'...so can they write books?  do they have to read books to become better teachers?

I was thinking along the lines of some trivia-based teacher job, that would give you a salary and such, and you would be promoted and such as you worked at your job as a teacher.

Then again, I\'m a wacko.

I\'m sure you would need one from the settings department to answer this, however Talad would most likely answer you with something like \"Not finished, so we can\'t answer that\". That\'s what they all say. :P

It just seemed to me like a job like teacher sounds out of place compared to the others.  All the other jobs are more or less Trades, but a Teacher sounds like a side-quest job you take on for extra money.  If that\'s the case, how about City Police, and Militaries, and Lawyers, whats a world without lawyers?  (A good world?)

I\'m not opposed to the idea, I love doing silly little side-quests to gain extra money or reputation.
