So at some point in this game\'s development surface travel out of the stalagmite/tite will be possible?

Possibly, I don\'t see why not if they have done a lot in the current setting unless it gets too big or something :P, but it is not certain and I think the devs want to keep it that way even if they knew theirselves.

looks like most of the posters did not go to school in Itally. Personally, I went to an american public school, and a bad one at that, so I have not heard of Dante, much less the book you mention...

< five minutes on the internet latter >

It looks like it is required reading in Itally, and Planeshift is bassed loosly on hell.  It makes a lot more sense to me now.  Little devil characters and the motto \"the world is not enough\".

adjaha,
If your idea was really bad, the developers would remove it.  It is still here and it is in the General Forum.  A lot of posts are moved.  You should be proud of your post! :)

Well, there was an old topic about what should be above the surface, and I agree with the people who were saying it should be a sort of wasteland where all the toughest monsters are. That would also save the devs a lot of trouble, so they don\'t have to program an entire planet surface.

But then you would have to explain why there is a wasteland on the surface.

Because of the sun. The nature of the sun decays living matter. The crystal that lights Ylakium dilutes this, however, along with many of the other harmful effects the sun has.
How about that?

I\'m still confused about one part of the settings..

At the seventh level the radiation is just enough to penetrate the mass of the lake in order to light it, while on the first level it is so strong that it allows wonderful crops and the breeding of great cattle, which provide milk and meat.

how does this radiation get through all these levels?

You did see the picture of the stalagmite, right.
Well the crystal provides the radiation and it lights up all beneath it.

Well, why do you think they are the toughest monsters? Natural selection. Only the toughest monsters can survive there.

as long as they are living they should find it hard to survive if their sun is so dangerous. You said it yourself

They have evolved to be tough enough to withstand it.

Dude, just read the setting and stuff. Also, it is just a game- don\'t worry about it\'s \"shape.\" Just enjoy it!
