there should be a lvl limit, but a high one..
i mean, look at runescape, the level limit was 99, and what we all played wasnt even the final version..
people like *color**flower**number*x (trying not to say the name, duh), got to lvl 99 smithing or whatever after 3 weeks...
so thats kinda stupid, i mean, after you get your stats all up to like 99, what is there left to do?
if there is a level limit, it should be like 200 atleast, and remember its VERY VERY VERY hard to lvl from 99 to 100, so imgainge 199 to 200.

I think the leveling should go really fast in th beginning. (after a few hours U are level 10 or something and then it goes slower and slower eventually when U are level 99 (wich should take 5 months it takes another month to go to level 100! ) this way U aren\'t done in a few weeks.

Um 3 weeks you couldnt lvl a skill to 99 in 3 weeks if you had people character sharing with free items.

So basicly the point of this thread is:

THERE WILL NOT BE STATS MOVING BETWEEN THE DEMOS, ALPHAS AND BETAs...or maybe the alphas or betas...

so they are deleted when u go from alpha to beta??

I don\'t mind. but I just wanna say DO NOT DELETE STATS WHEN THE FINAL GAME COMES OUT!! I mean beta and delta charlie bravo are just for testing. so u can just delete stats. from what i\'ve heard the first demo won\'t even have stats.

btw. how is it going with the first demo??

The way I understood it, when a \'final version\' is out, eveything will be reset to create a level playing field, after that then you can build your character with complete peace of mind and happiness ;)

How about when we play like the first alpha or something everyone signs up for a 10 level head shoot whenever the full version comes out. Or something. Yanno.

Heh, I sympathize with all you devs.  They just never get it do they?  The demos are for testing, duh.  What if they want to tweak low level character gameplay (which would be, you know, kinda important).  Reset characters and voila!  A new batch of low levels.  Want to test high powered characters?  ZAP!  Everyone gains 50 levels.  Seriously, I don\'t really see why it\'s so bad.  After the first few times of playing, we should all know what we are doing.  I expect to be able to level quite quickly once I get used to the game.

How can you have a game without levels?  Its called skills man.  Why do you HAVE to get more health?  Do you in real life?  NO!  Anyone can still be killed by a simple old rusty knife, properly used.  (unless your Blade, but thats another story).   What you do get is better at simply not getting hit, at ignoring pain, at deflecting and parrying and riposte.  You become more aware of your surroundings and less easily surprised.  Perhaps, they could base health like this, which is at least more realistic:  the amount of damage you heal from would be recorded.  Every X amount of damage you healed from, you would gain another HP, thus representing the stress hardening your body does naturally.  I am not kidding here, people\'s bodies get harder from being hit.  I know.  I practiced hitting hard wooden objects with my fist, and now it barely hurts anymore.  I could fairly easily punch a hole in a standard wooden door without getting hurt.

When you crack and fracture your bones repeatedly they calcify new layers onto the bone, becoming thicker and tougher.  In short, the body adapts to whatever situation it faces.   Longbowmen had one arm significantly longer - and that wasn\'t just because they came from a mutant population.
All right you primitive screwheads!  Listen up!

Montenegro is right about the testing stuff, we dont need to start with a level advantage, thats not very fare to the other players. But if you\'ve played the Beta\'s and stuff like that then you will have an advatage, because you know a lot about the game, what will make you level or gain skills or whatever a lot faster (i think).

But about:

Its a game man! Why do games have to be 100% realistic.   :)  I think a level system just is more fun because you can easily see if someone is stronger, or if someone is worthy to join your clan or whatever. And its more fun then just gaining skills i think because you really see what you are working for.
