i know its a little off topic, but i think i might go ahead and start a page for my series of drop parties, which i hope to continue in PS... and i hate the current avidgamers site for ROTN in RS

Umm... Drop Parties? This wouldn\'t have anything to do with the movie Deliverance would it? (doesn\'t expect many to get the reference).

For those of you who don\'t know, Deliverance is a very disturbing film.

Two guys take a trip down a river, boat wrecks, and local types do nasty things to our boat travelling heroes.

One says \"Boy, I\'m gonna make you squeal like a pig,\" and proceeds to do something nasty to the first guy, and indeed makes him squeal like a pig.

The reference is to the drop of pants. And all the characters mentioned were male, BTW.

Its where woob works at screwing everything up in ps.
By getting all the non roleplayers and noobs together and dropping items.
It starts out good noobs get free stuff but as it gets bigger and bigger . The items dropped get bigger and bigger creating more and more beggars and noobs that have flashy items but dont know where they got em or why they even deserve em.
That along with a few other reasons is why I say NO
It stands for  Running Of The Newbies. ROTN
Its a good concept in an adventure kinda game but it throws everyhing and everyone out of place in rpg\'s.
 Now a mentoring society that gave away a few lesser items to noobs is way different.
But if woob is allowed to do this it will ruin the game.He even knows this. I think he gets his jolly\'s off of it.

I doubt it .It was like his claim to fame in RS.He\'s probably thinking that he can get noobs to do any work for him and to back him up.
See because today they might be noobs but tommorow.

Dumb Woob:Well that too.But also see theres some other people that are just weenies.They think im ruining everything and taking away from the game ...when Im just trying to drop free stuff.

I\'m all for helping out new people how ever I can, but from what you guys have said, this drop party stuff doesn\'t sound like a great idea - it doesn\'t seem to be in keeping with the game setting either really.

I agree im all for helping new people.But I think we should set up an area perhaps where new people can learn .Just a small section mind you where they can learn before setting out in this place there could be people..Mentors players and Moderaters who have spent time within the game.
Now they could be there to answer simple questions and perhaps equip noobs with some basic equipment.
There are alot of individuals that will just see game and do the download or whatever and jump right into the game.
Not knowing anything about the world itself and how it works.Concerning money ,guilds,Professions,history,So these people run around asking for help free items whatever because they dont know.
Now by just giving them free stuff isnt gonna help much really.Just makes the person doing it get a few laughs and a few people think he or she is a great person.
Because hey I got a free broadsword +2 or whatever,I can go out and hack and slash.
Now dont get me wrong I love combat.
But it isnt everything.
Alot of us roleplayers do love combat.But we think you should also know whats going around you.Meaning people and townsfolk current events.
Now with Dumb Woobs ROTN alot of people might get free items that they havent really earned.And Dumb Woob and a few others might get a laugh or two watching alot of Noobs running around in circles trying to pick everything up.
But it doesnt really help the game enviorment.The noobs just get a few items Woob gets a few laughs at their expense.
Because a good 80% of the stuff is junk.And people will come from far and wide for free stuff because hey if they dont somebody else will right.

ok here goes kada... Rotn (running of the newbies) was my parties in RS... i got bored with rs as we all do so i started dropping things to watch the people run... it got fun so eventually all i did was get stuff to drop.. i\'m hoping that i can do it in PS, its not some act of kindness i do, just entertainment...
