HIghlighting of important threads
« on: November 02, 2003, 08:10:01 pm »
OW! MY EYES!!!
Sticky threads werer obvious enough, you don\'t have to make me take another visit to the eye doctor! Those visit things happen to be expensive!
PLEASE! Can anyone here change that? Or is the kind of thing the local admins can\'t do?
Because annoying stuff makes me sad. Unless it\'s me. Or someone else sometimes.

What exactly is the problem with them?  Is it just the colour?   This was discussed on irc a bit and people there seemed to like them.

Well thats them.
I just don\'t like the contrast of red and blue and the overall highlighting. It worked just fine without it and highlighting hurts and is unnecessary. What does everyone else think?

Well, I will leave it for now to see what the general reaction is.

I\'ve posted my thoughts in the guild forum.

Basically it went \"WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME?!?!?\"

Actually, in #planeshift. Discussed with Mogura, Axsyrus, Zaphar, anybody else is free to join there and discuss.

Well, I don\'t know the other two people...all I know is it doesn\'t help at all, if people don\'t read the important it is because their lazy, not because it doesn\'t blind them.

Being colorblind doesn\'t help :P

It\'s good. I think it will decrease n00b posting old and resolved stuff. Before, sticky threads were nigh indescernible.

I agree with Kiern, if somebody doesn\'t wanna read the sticky posts, highlighting them isn\'t gonna change their mind.  I don\'t even think I\'ve read most of the stickies.

Only n00bs don't quote themselves...

I begin to think some people need to adjust their monitors the colors are not eye harming or clashing. unless perhaps your monitors are drastically different from the rest of us. you should have seen the first atttempts those clashed but I think they arrived at an appropriate selection of colors

the number af n00b questions have dropped since the new colors are being used so i guess it helped.. and i don\'t know what\'s wrong with your monitors but the colors are just fine now, they were a lot worse when we started to talk about this in the channel..

I never had a problem with the colors either but I was just pointing out that they were noticeable enough before.  Enough that if you wanted to read them you would have.
