Fan Art posting thread
« on: November 04, 2003, 10:27:59 pm »
[This is the thread responsible for the Fan Art area being created. :) I\'ve moved it here now, and anyone can still post things here or create their own thread... anyways, ta-daa! -Mogura]

Ok this has been briefly discussed on the forums before but no one has taken the lead so here goes.

Post your artwork here and just to start us off here is my contribution.

presenting my klyros in all his glory:

YAY!! You finished it! It looks awesome Zappie, well done! :)

I\'m practicing to draw a fully detailed study of my character Moogie... if I ever get any better at facial features and proportions... I\'ll post it here. :)

I\'ve got a couple of monsters I could post later when I get home too. I\'ll just edit and shove them at the bottom of this post.

[Edit: Okay, added a few pics.]
[Edit again: Switched to another host so the pics will show up now. Thanks Niber for the link later in this thread.:) ]

Chimera monster

Crystal dragon monster

A selfportrait of Moogie... looks nothing like her now though, I keep changing things. :P

A quick sketch to see what Moogie would look like as a healer/animal tamer.

Beautiful!!!
I can\'t contribute, though, \'cause I\'m an \"artistically challenged\" guy. At least in drawing.

I never gave up but when I moved to Maya there was a steep learning curve.

I may redo his skeleton some time and see if I can get rid of some of those unnatural deformations but for now he his finished. I need to move on to some other things.

Nice. And everyone ignores Moogie who drew her little heart out for you. Pitiful.

Klyros is plastic. There\'s this beautious thing called \'Textures\' *clouds open...divine light shines down...The opening thingy from The Simpsons plays* Now, \'textures\' include pictures, and light ambience, and bump mapping (the true magic of the 3D world). Try it out. You can make something completely stupid look good.

Now, on to the good art.

Moogie, that last pic is jaw-dropping. When did you do that? It\'s great. The only problem I have with it, and this is meant as constructive critisism, is that her eyebrows are too thick near the bridge and it makes her look toked...er, evil. Ya, that\'s what I meant. But, the rest is really quite...um...awesome.

I was thinking of submitting some fanart, but now that I see Moogie\'s I really don\'t see the point. My self-confidence is gone. :(

Jedi,

No one was ignoring her post; it didn\'t originally contain those pics, she edited them in later.  So the people who post from you on (who actually read the whole thread and not just the last 2 posts  8o ) will have seen her pics.

So, me being after Jedi, let me also congratulate Moogie on a job well done!  :D Your \"quick sketch\" would take me days to create something half as good as that.  It\'s not envy (if I was an artist, I couldn\'t be a programmer), just simple admiration.  So here it is again: excellent work!

Zaphar, that model is very good as well.  I agree with Jedi that a adding a few textures would absolutely rock.  8)

Keep up the good work, everyone!
