do my homework
« on: November 10, 2003, 02:54:58 am »
I am doing a paper for language arts that requires me to interview random people. so here are my open ended questions.

1\"Where is it that you work?\"
2\"What do you do here?\"
3\"How exactly did you get this position?\"
4\"What do you do in your spare time?\"
5\"Dose this relate to the path you chose in your career? and if so how?\"
6\"What did you want to be as a child/what are you training to be?
7\"What education did you need to get this position and how long and how hard was it getting there?\"
8\"What are the highs and lows of your job?\"
9\"How dose your job affect the way people live on a day-to-day basis?\"
10\"What compelled you to help me do my homework?\"

answer them in a decent format. any help is appreciated

Always happy to help  :)

1) I work in the technical support office for my local school district.
2) I take care of all the boring projects that no one else wants to do
3) Well it started about 5 years ago, when I came in with my father (who works there) over the summer to see what kind of things he did there.  His boss saw that I was knowledgable with computers, and very capable, and so I was assigned meager jobs, and got paid decent student wages.  From then on, they just hire me from time to time whenever they need something done that no one else has the time to do.
4) Computer programming (C++, and lately some ASP), computer gaming, chatting with friends
5) Well my planned career is C++ programming, so I guess being a technical support assistant (or whatever they\'re calling me now  :P ) would classify as the same path.
6) For a long time, I\'ve known I want to do something with computers.  Somewhere around 5-6 years ago I started learning how to program, and I\'ve decided that it\'s what I want to do.  I am currently going to community college to get my degree in C/C++ programming.
7) Doesn\'t really apply to my situation, I was kind of hired on the spot.
8.) Highs: I get paid for doing stuff with computers, my co-workers are very cool people and I get to chat with them about the latest in computing
Lows: It\'s not a real permanent position; it used to be something that I just did on the side while I was going to school, but now that I\'m in college I\'m looking for another job.
9) Hmmm, well my job mostly has to do with getting computers ready for district employees to use, so I guess I\'m benefiting the staff by keeping them technologically up-to-date.
10) LOL, for one I\'ve been extremely bored all day, and second, I\'m just a really nice guy that enjoys helping other people  :)

How I set my timezone:

ln -sf /usr/share/zoneinfo/Antarctica/Davis /etc/localtime

Alucard Maximov, some call me Dimitri
Anyway, seems like like fun, so here is me:

#1) I work at a nursery.
#2) I do everything and anything. I am a form of a manager that does everything from electrical wiring to irrigation and your grunt work in the greenhouses.
#3) I was born into the family.
#4) I do everything from nothing to homework.
#5) In no what does this hello-of-a-job relate to anything I will be doing in the future.
#6) Training to be a Biochemical enginer, with a +5 in poor spelling.
#7) Gotta do 4-5 years of organic chem and same amount in biology, plus 3 years of biochem. I total, about 8-10 years, depends on what I fail and how much.
#8) This one time, I almost shot of this other guy\'s toe off with a pressure washer, plus I get to drive a tractor. The low, the god dam heat!
#9) It does not, unless the plants will rule the world one day, in which case, well, I am their master.
#10) Well, I would yell at you, but that would mean more typing, so instead, I am filling this out, consider it an honour.
