Searching for a Guild? Look here
« on: November 12, 2003, 09:48:23 pm »
Looking for a guild to join? Look no further!

Below you?ll find links to sites of fans that were kind enough to put up a list of the current guilds in the PlaneShift realm.
Just click on the site you want to go to and you?ll be taken directly to their guild list.
From there you can easily review every guild and visit their website if you want to
have a closer look into the guild.
This will surely help you have a better view of what guilds are out there and thus will help you make a better decision on which guild to join.
I hope you will find this usefull :)

Before going on with the list of sites I?d like to thank all the people that were kind enough to put these lists together, without them it would be a lot harder for you guys to find the right guild ;). So thanks!

Kada?s theBBB Guild List
Here is Kada?s guild list, a very complete list that is constantly updated by our lovely tavern hostess Kada-El.
Also visit her on the forum there sometime at thebbb.tk :)

Dorbian\'s Guild List
Here we find Dorbian?s guild list, very nicely done.
Easy to use and all ordered by alphabet. Great work!
NOTE: some of the content on this site is in Dutch, but that should be no problem since the important stuff is easy to spot.

Comparitve Guilds Survey
This here is the Comparitve Guilds Survey. This site is solely dedicated to listing the guilds of PlaneShift. So that is all you will find on this site ;)

Yliakum.tk Guild List
This here list is part of a fan-site for PlaneShift. Very nicely done, check it out.

Thanks again to all the people who made these lists possible.

Okay guys, post an ad! No chatting, no discussion and no repeating ads, please. If you ever want your ad removed (due to guild shutting down/ceasing to recruit etc) please send me a PM.

Great work Keldorn!

(since the comments thread is locked). I think alliances should put some info somewhere too.

I know only what the 2 consist of(from the bbb), but not what they stand and fight for. Which is cruicial, I think(it probably isn\'t just about world domination?!)

If I were a newbie trying to pick a guild, I\'d surely want to know with what/who the guild is involved.

A promise lives within you now
May it be the shadow\'s call
May it be your journey on
Where once was light, now darkness falls.

Intrigued? I thought you might be. You can feel it, can\'t you? Feel it pulling at your very essence... feel the yearning growing inside your very soul... that\'s the shadow\'s call. That\'s the power of darkness. Join me, and you will have that power at your fingertips.

A Brief History

First, I should introduce myself. My name is Yarulion. I came to PlaneShift at the beginning of October, 2003, by your reckoning. Like everyone that comes to Yliakum, I was searching for something. I, however, was one of the lucky few who found exactly what I wanted here. For me, Yliakum was the land of opportunity, where I could let my order flourish. But I am getting ahead of myself. All that you need know is that I, too, am a traveller, and I, too, have a dream. My dream is to fulfill the quest of the transcendental life, as outlined in the Black Flame Scrolls that I have possessed since my birth. How, exactly, can I accomplish this? Well, I\'m glad you asked, because that is exactly what I intend to show you.

What is the Black Flame?

The Black Flame is everything - it is our insignia, our name, and our goal. Its symbolism originated in the very scrolls I mentioned before, the utter foundation of our order. The Black Flame is a metaphor for the transcendental philosophy at the heart of our order. A flame gives off its color because of the amount of heat it produces, white denoting the hottest flame of all. Fire symbolizes our actions - ever changing and ever on the move. The slightest stimulus and our active response to it can redefine who we are, much like adding the tiniest spark to a fire can control the shape of a flame, albeit momentarily. The heat of the flame symbolizes our thought, the mental power we exert when creating the flame of our actions. A black flame symbolizes fire without heat, like actions without thought.

There is no thought...
...there is only action.

For a transcendental cipher, the ultimate goal is to purge oneself of thought. This is accomplished through a number of means, including but not limited to meditation, physical and mental training, and even guesswork. But what is the difference between a cipher and a random, impulsive fool? A question often asked by outsiders, but to a Disciple of the Black Flame, this is a joke. Of course any fool can blunder into a situation without first considering his options. But a true cipher always chooses the right thing to do at the right moment. At the heart of the philosophy of the order is the belief that we are all inherently one with the multiverse. The multiverse is necessarily governed by forces that keep it in balance and shape the events that come to pass. Most of these forces, however, are not sentient, which is to say they have no sense of choice. What is choice, then, but a hindrance? Thought comes in many forms - moral deliberation, hesitation, doubt - all of which will earn you nothing on the battlefield except a swift death. Thought is what brings chaos to the multiverse. While many outsiders view us as chaotic, what they are actually perceiving is us imposing order on them. Our instinct is so naturally and perfectly attuned to the forces of the multiverse that our reactions border on precognition. We are able to choose the right path at the right time because we have removed the medium of interference between what the multiverse dictates and what we choose. We are also often accused of being thoughtless. We simply have no need of thought - our decisions do not require pointless seconds, minutes, hours, or even days or weeks as many outsiders seem to take. This waste of time is not tolerated by ciphers - it is their life\'s goal to eliminate it.

Alignment and Structure

The Disciples of the Black Flame does not represent the entirety of the Transcendent Order. In fact, were you to travel outside Yliakum and talk to other self-proclaimed ciphers you might hear some opinions quite a bit different from ours. However, the following defines Yliakum\'s chapter of the order as set forth by their current guildmaster and founder Yarulion.

* We are chaotic evil.
Individual members may be of any non-good alignment, provided they are either chaotic or evil. This means that in the nine alignment system, the alignments in red would be allowed, while the alignments in blue would be restricted.

Lawful Good............Lawful Neutral............Lawful Evil
Neutral Good.............True Neutral.............
Neutral Evil
Chaotic Good..........
Chaotic Neutral..........Chaotic Evil

* We enforce role-playing.
This guild is of a role-playing nature, and role-playing should be done to the fullest reasonable extent in the games, the forums, and any other PlaneShift medium. Of course it is allowed to go out of character, especially during these early stages when the community is so close and the game is in development. However, never act on behalf of the guild out of character.

* We are a monastic order.
This does not mean you have to be a monk to join. It does, however, mean, that though we may seem militaristic, we are monastic in structure, with ranks and promotions being given in accordance with how much of the philosophy you have learned. In other words, the more you live like a cipher, the higher rank you will be awarded. The ranks are as follows:

1. Proselyte: Proselytes are converts who sometimes do not fully understand what they are getting into.

2. Catechumen: These guildsmen have undertaken the first steps to learning the transcendental philosophy.

3. Votary: These members have pledged enough time and effort to the order to be accorded this first rank of full membership.

4. Laureate: These members have done something laudable or noticeable in the eyes of their superiors. Their fine work has been rewarded with an increase in status.

5. Maven: This is the only non-officer rank to possess any authority over their subalterns in the guild. Very few people occupy this rank at one time, and most who get it are soon to become officers.

6. Canon: This is the first level of officer status within the order. Canons have limited authority over their underlings, but have little decision-making power. They are only included in important matters at the discretion of guild leadership.

7. Sectarian: These officers have full authority and jurisdiction over the guild except in matters such as promotion, war, diplomacy, and public relations that require the intervention of guild leadership. They may recruit, train, and probate members as they see fit, and they may recommend change to the leaders that they wish to see installed. Sectarians may act on behalf of the guild without permission having to be expressly granted.

8. Rector: Deputy guildmasters and council members comprise this rank. When only one or two exist, they have just as much authority as the guildmaster, excepting that the words of the guildmaster are final and can overrule their decision. When three or more exist, they comprise the Council of Apotheosis, so named after the process to which it is dedicated - the process of transcending from human to divine, from mortal to immortal. Council members have full authority over all guild matters without exception. They can only be overruled by a decision of the guildmaster.

9. Exemplar: The exemplar regnant is the current guildmaster, who all of the order members should strive to be like. He is the insignia of the guild, and everything he says is law as far as the order is concerned. A single word from him on any matter can override any decision by the council, or any precedent from a similar decision in the past. He leads the guild by his words, his life, and his actions, and is the greatest cipher in the realm.

Who Should Join

Fighters will receive the most benefit from becoming a part of our order. Though ciphers look just like everyone else, they are faster, better, and stronger. Fighters who use martial arts will find especial benefits from our practices of meditation and rigorous training.

Rogues are welcome in the order to hone their skills. The skills of stealth and assasination are most directly affected by the guild training, though many have reported their thiefly skills growing as they progress. Even such a simple act as lock-picking can be improved when one is not nervously fumbling about, but calmly deciding everything without doubt or hesitation.

Clerics and mages, those who deal with spells and magical effects, will usually find the least benefit from joining. This is not to say they are restricted from membership and should go elsewhere, but it will be particularly difficult for them to enhance their field as much as other classes. Mages who operate off charisma will certainly benefit more than those who use natural magic, but all are welcome to try the transcendental life and see what benefits they can reap.

\"There is one certainty, and that is death?

The greatest battle a warrior must face is the battle against fear.  All who take the life of the mercenary have emerged victorious from this conflict.  When death is no longer feared, an obstacle becomes a tool.  This tool shall not be used in the name of politics, honour, justice or love.  The services of the Guild may only be called upon in exchange for currency.  A life is worthless, until a bounty is placed upon it.  Beyond that, your motivations are not our concern.

?Death is the only law, and we are its masters?

Our world is one of chaos, not order, and strength inevitably triumphs ? the Guild is a bastion of strength and, inevitably, it shall triumph.  If you are weak, our strength may be purchased.  The guild offers a range of services, a range of prices, and a range of operatives.  The harder the job, the higher the price; the more experienced the operative you choose to employ, the more you must pay.  Espionage, guild wars, body guarding, armed escort, garrisoning ? all are within our abilities, as long as they are within your budget.  If you have the gold, we have the steel.

\"We are a brotherhood of blood?

Be aware, that while the Guild is above the petty squabbles of politics, and its primary motivation is the pursuit of wealth, its members are loyally bound to each other through their knowledge of pain.  Treachery shall not be tolerated, whether between members or from outsiders.  The pride of the Guild shall at all times be maintained, and shall be mortally defended by its champions if it is challenged.  Therefore, do not doubt that to cross us is to welcome death, no matter how much you can pay.

If, having read and understood the above, you wish to join our ranks or are prepared to purchase our services, then;

>Welcome to the home of the Mercenary Guild.<

The Cabal: A legacy of Corruption
« Reply #5 on: November 13, 2003, 04:10:25 am »

We are THE CABAL

We are corruption. We are the eternal darkness. We are the fate of this world. Her masters whom she recognises not yet. But we shall make her take notice. We seek to purge the world of its false notions of order and restore the primal chaos.

The goal of the Cabal is to unify the planes under one rule. The rule of a super-intellect. The creation of the society as a superorganism orchestrated by a unison of minds.

It does not seek to enforce artificial harmony or order for that is not the way of nature. Nature promotes conflict and so does the Cabal. It believes in survival of the fittest and success to the successful. When nature has not willed for all to be born equal then why should equality be enforced? Your rights are what you are capable of defending. Your destiny is what you can carve out with your sheer will. All that you can take and hold is yours. If you are weak you are doomed to oblivion but if you are strong enough the universe should be yours for the taking. The Cabal seeks this order that is to be found in perfect chaos where entities are held in their rightful place by the laws of nature themselves. The Cabal seeks the harmony that results from perfect anarchy. Each dictated by their own will and checked by their own weaknesses.

The Cabal thus seeks to allow the society to find its own point of equilibrium and restore the rule of the primal chaos. However to ensure that the situation cannot cascade to a catastrophe the Cabal proposes the process be initiated in a controlled environment directed by the finest minds of the realms.

Thus the Cabal seeks to obliterate society as we know it and shape it anew. Resistance is encountered at each step and indeed it is anticipated. The foolish and frightened masses refuse to shed their protective cocoons of ficticious notions of harmony. They donot understand and are thus afraid to let go of their ways. The handful who wield power are doubtful of their ability to hold onto it and thus struggle in futility to quell the gathering storms of revolution. But the evolution of society cannot be sacrificed to the whims of fools. Resistance is dealt with swiftly and efficiently. Those who see the wisdom of the path of corruption are integrated into the Hive-Mind and others are obliterated or subdued.

The Cabal seeks the shortest path to success and casts aside false shackles of morality and empathy. Millions sacrificed is still a small price for Utopia . Our operations emphasize efficiency and simplicity. Opposition which is strong, is weakened. Those weak are dismantled and their components assimilated.

The day draws near when the black sun will dawn and plunge the world in eternal darkness. Choose to ride with the Cabal\'s leagions that day and watch the world tremble at your feet and recognise you as her master.

Ours is a guild of evil. Our main activities are

- spreading chaos and terror in the lands
- dismantling this false society till it crumbles to dust.
- crush those that dare oppose us underfoot.
- grow our legions till we can drown the world in our corruption.

Our objectives are

- To control the destinies of all people of the realms.
- To take over or destroy all guilds which might hinder us.
- To spread our taint till all mortals are corrupted.
- To carry out and control all criminal activities within PS.
- To become the richest and most powerful.

Besides that we are proud to say that we are the most detested guild in PS and one of the most active.

So join us now. Rise and take control of the fates of all people.

We are THE CABAL

We do not intend to change the world. We intend to THRIVE in it

Much time has past in the world of Yliakum. Guilds have come and gone. Some lead glorious lives, rising to fame, fortune, and power. Others just merely existed, sitting in a stagnant pool, no less determined than any other. There was, and always will be, one guild, however, that has stood above the rest. One guild that had proven its power, its glory, and its endurance over the ages. The friendship, trustworthness, and loyalty of its members has allowed the world to see our splendor. You are invited to be a part of that legacy. Become a Legend!

The Circle of Legends is one of the oldest surviving guilds in the world of Planeshift. Our good aligned guild\'s ways are time tested to perfection. With an international setup, the Circle of Legends Guild has the ability to run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week all around the world. Do you want to be part of our Circle? Then check out our site at the following link:

or

All the information you will need is listed there. To sign up, just click join in the menu.

You may also PM me, Sabrewulf, or any other Circle of Legends member through this forum. They can direct you to where you can sign up (Note: the guild is not accepting applications or partaking in guild alliances until the Crystal Blue update is released).

Do not intend to change the world. Intend the Thrive in it!

\"Freed from the shackles of control...\"

Independance We thrive to be a totally self-dependant guild. We run on our own steam; For example... We get weapons by finding the ore and smithing it ourselves. We get clothing through long hours in front of the loom. We get food from animals and plants that we raise. Etc, Etc, Etc.

Community
We are a community within a community. We welcome new community members with open arms, backing eachother up, supporting eachother as needed, so for those of you that are looking for a place to hang your hat, sit down with friends and share a pint or three, we are the guild for you.

Politics
We build our own government and political system. It is quite the dynamic process; things bend and change as needed or as requested by members. Speaking of which, this is a complete democracy. Every member, great or small, has a hand in the guilds inner workings.

We are best compared to a city; homes for all, a self sufficient government, trading systems, any commercial constructions needed. All systems are carefully planned and layed out.

Who do we want?
Any decent person wishing to have a place to call home and welcoming arms in the rough world of Yliakum. Anyone willing to earn their salt by contributing new ideas, suggestions, materials, or support to the guild. Anyone wishing to escape the system... freeing themselves from economic, political, and religious control.

Current Guild History
[Please note: this is a brand new works in progress and is under heavy change at all times.]

The Beginning  [/B]

In the beginning of its second year of life the world Planeshift had not yet
completed its first transformation. The sprawling gray town had no
population, its temple had fallen to the rats and the crystal sun was dimmed. Travelers hardly ever frequented this world and the few that did, did so alone. The town seemed to have an aura of evil, weapons not invented it would seem that it was a safe place. But not so, for travelers often found themselves buried under the city suddenly with no warning. The world soon sunk out of thought and was never again seen in that state.

The Transformation

Several weeks after the world had disappeared it rose again. The crystal
casting radiant light over the entire city, the buildings seemed transformed in this new light. Travelers flocked from miles away to see this spectacle. The temple now glorious rising high over the surrounding houses with its entrance to the maze of underground caverns. There even lived people there, librarians, vendors and guards. Swords where found in places along with crystals that could be bartered with. Weather patterns had formed, with rain falling frequently from the top of the dome. With the world perfectly safe to explore and enjoy thousands moved in to stake there claims. Kada-El\'s tavern became the city meeting place where travelers discussed business, creating guilds, and trickery. As the word spread many guilds where created, some growing powerful, others dieting, and yet others biding there time.

The Awakening

On the night of the transformation two travelers weary of there travels met and sat. There names being DevotedEternal and Zeus AKA Deamonlord. The two where forsaken by those they knew before and had come to start a new life. Sitting in the tavern over a mug of beer as wine was not yet invented they agreed to create a guild. Naming it TheForsakenones they quickly created a meeting place where one could join, express there opinions, and learn. Soon after they started a young man named Thorgalf joined their efforts, designing the job list, guild rules, and various other tasks.

The Joining

Not one week from the transformation joined this guild a mysterious traveler named Windwalker. No one knew where he had came from and what he wanted. Soon achieving the rank of member and then Chancellor Windwalker created many new rules, reports on the new world and submitted many new ideas. Others joined during this time but fell to the roadside after a time.

The Departure

Zeus often wished that he could return to the world as someone not forsaken by others. After several months he left the guild he helped start and became a member in another. The Forsakenones carried on without him, recruiting and remaking their work. Zeus soon found that he had felt a thome with the Forsakenones and missed them. The guild that he had joined The black order was falling apart and Zeus wanted nothing to do with them. Their leader gone they asked Zeus to step up and lead them but Zeus refused, returning to the FSO. The BO remained broken for many months until they reinstated the Dark Alliance. For the first time in history and the last the FSO broke one rule and let Zeus back into the guild.

The Cleansing

Months passed and soon the forth year of the world Planeshift was seen on the horizon. Nine months and the world would turn but the FSO was to busy to care. Many members had fallen away and the FSO finally realized that they where in danger of becoming extinct. After examining there member list it was concluded that there where only five active members. Soon to be four as one left to try life on his own and the FSO never heard from him again. With four members on its list the FSO tryed to recruit but true to its name was forsaken by all.

The Alliance

Soon after the FSO turned to a long time friend called Sabrewulf who had also started a guild. Sabre agreed to create an alliance and it was agreed that they would share resources, information, and support each other. This contract was placed in stone sealing the Alliance forever.

The Wait

For three months nothing happened in the world or the guild as the members traveled to other places visited other worlds and ignored Planeshift. During this time several guilds came into existence and grew. The FSO seemed to disappear as Planeshift rushed on. Three months later the FSO convened and agreed to start recruiting again. As this process started Zeus had an idea and went to discover if it could be done. Falsely mislead by his own hope Zeus left the FSO for the last time and went to start his own guild. This project failed within two weeks and Zeus join the Guild Illuminatis who\'s leader was Kada-El. Needless to say the remaining FSO member felt the threat of oblivion and they proceeded to recruit two new members. These two members gave them confidence and they updated their goals. Working hard on the meeting place the members of the FSO waited for the next transformation of the world Planeshift. But with five members their existence was hardly
secure.

In closing....
Thank you all for your time and interest. We hope to see you all around. Anyone wishing to join should head to our site and fill out an application. (The Forsaken Ones Official Site)

First, we are currently invite only. This ad is for the sake of publicity and recongnition.

We embrace the spirits of darkness. We are the ones who are free from the blinding light. We are the ones who realise our true potential. We are the ones who stop at nothing for conquest, power, and wealth, satisfying our lust for blood and battle along the way. Our will and dedication strong, our blades sharp and our magic potent. Like raging lightning we can strike fast and hard. Like a small bug, we can pass idly by, yet still leave a trail of destruction and conquest in our wake.We are wise, we are cunning. We are The Dark Empire.

Guild features:

1. One of the oldest guilds in planeshift, weve been in existance for over a year!

2. Secure, all members are assumed to be trustworthy, as we have a very strict and effective method of recruitment. Quality over quantity.

3. Recently inactive, we are back, we are better, and this time we are here to stay :D

4. Unique system of hiearchy

5. The only guild in PS with a classical \"medieval kingdom/empire\" type theme.

6. Roleplaying guild: this means RP is greatly encouraged. I\'m not so big on it now, but in future releases of PlaneShift I might be.

7. We believe ALL members are to be treated with respect, new or old. I am VERY strict on this, as failure would result in a collapsing guild.

8. Our guilds base alignment is lawful evil. We accept the following alignments: Lawful neutral, Lawful evil.

9.Just as their is honor among thieves, there is honor among our evil, among our kin,and among our dark and tyrannic ways.

10. We are part of the Dark Alliance. (DA) This alliance of evil based guilds help each other and work with each other as one. But we are all seperate guilds. The alliance consists of three guilds: The Dark Empire, The Blackflame Clan, and The Black Order.

Click the link in my sig to see our website. NOTE: the rules section may be changed soon, as most of it will remain unchanged, some things will be changed and some newly added. Also Disregard the Ranking system as a new is being developed as implied in the above points.

Arcane Order is a Neutral guild for mages and wizards. All races in Yliakum are accepted as members, the only requirement is that the player\'s character will practice magic.

Arcane Order has 9 ranks and 3 branches . Also it covers all 6 ways of Magic in Yliakum with a Council Member overseeing the practice of Magic in each of these. The 6 member Council is the Authoritative body of AO and makes decissions by consensus and/or majority vote.

The 3 branches are :

1. Spellsword - This branch is for fighters who practice magical skills to aid in combat, thus Fighter/Mages. Our spellswords are our protection, the threat of their revenge serves to keep our guild at peace and Spellsword will protect fellow members on quests etc.
2. NightBlade - This branch is for rogues who use magic to aid improve their stealth, spying, stealing, backstabbing etc. (you know, the stuff rogues usually do). They are thus Rogue/Mages. Nightblades serve as AO\'s eyes and ears, they provide us the necessary intelligence and subversive capability we need to survive in a dangerous world.
3. Loremaster - This branch is for our pure mages, who will mainly practice their magical abilities. The Loremaster branch is the mainstay of Mages that make AO the Mage guild that it is, however all three branches have equal status and are equally important to AO.

- More info about all our branches, the ranking system, membership policy and AO in general can be found on our homepage.

- Anyone interested in joining AO, may join the Irc channel

- Info required to join:

1. Name
2. Country of residence
3. Character description of the character you intend to play in PS
[/color]

About the ranking system can be said that all new member start out as an apprentice, and thus they need a master. We are invite only and thus we need to get to know you, learn your activity and judge your suitability as member of AO.
An active and committed member that \"gels\" well with the other members will be promoted to the rank of Adept according to merit. All promotion decission are made by Council.

The second promotion opportunity will allow the member to choose one of the 3 branches named above, i.e. SpellSword, NightBlade or Loremaster.

It is noteworthy, however, that the AO is currently Invite Only, so you will have to get to know us (i.e. participate in discussions at our forum or IRC channel) in order to be accepted into the guild.

You can find us in irc in #arcaneorder @ quakenet

Mirth Guild
A member of the Citadel of Light alliance

I remember what Planeshift used to be like. Friendships were made, and kept. Friendly and productive rivalries formed, and the group of people who are now known as \'oldbies\' joked and conversed with a positive air. This, I think, is the true meaning of Mirth: Not to eliminate the \'evil\' guilds, but to make a return to the atmospere that was enjoyed when I was a newbie. To create a place where you can do what you like, but in a friendly way. To make people play their roles for the sake of EVERYBODY\'s enjoyment...

To me, that is the spirit of Mirth.  :)

Hear ye, O citizens of Yliakum!  All who seek to aid the triumph of the Light over the powers of Darkness and Despair, take heed!  Let those who have been corrupted by false promises offered by prophets of greed and malice, turn your face once more to the power of Good!  ;)  Mirth Guild is recruiting again!   :)

What is Mirth?

The aim of Mirth Guild is to spread the spirit of our Mirth to all those who will have it, using methods that are as non-violent as possible.  We will never provoke a war, nor will we take part in one unless it is absolutely essential for the survival of Mirth or of another member of the Citadel of Light alliance.  If your ultimate goal in the world of Planeshift is to be a \"Paladdin of Good\" or some other warrior of the Light, then Mirth is not the guild for you.  (You should be looking into joining Defenders, instead.  :) )  Mirth is ideal for clerics, healers, travelling entertainers, and all others who spread the joy of life to those they meet.  All other professions are permitted to join, however, except for thieves and assassins.

Our History:

The founder of Mirth was the renowned healer and cleric YanRK, an enkidukai who had seen both good and evil in the course of his travels in Yliakum and beyond. Despite the great horrors he witnessed on this journey, he managed to continue to enjoy every moment of his life.  The terrible desolation he had seen served merely to fill him more with great joy to be alive, and he decided that his purpose would be to spread that joy, that Mirth, to all those he met.

So YanRK gathered to him many who were likeminded, and together they set out to wander the land and teach others of the joy to be had in nature, in comradeship, and in life.  The Mirth Guild grew from these beginnings, and influenced many to regain the happiness that they had been lost among the clutter of daily, dreary tasks that were their lives.  The work of Mirth Guild seemed to be a success.

Mirth Guild\'s members thought that they had won, that they had banished sorrow and grief from the land.  They rejoiced at the work they had done, and returned to the lives that they had abandoned in their pursuit of Mirth.  In this time of complacency, however, the Darkness took the people of Yliakum by storm.

New wanderers travelled to Yliakum throught the catacombs and tunnels through the Great Doors.  These were followers of Evil and Misery, and they spread their influence through the great stalactite, until even the life-giving light of the Azure Sun was dimmed to a shadow of its former self.  Mirth\'s members were caught unprepared, and many fell victim to the corruption of the newly introduced Evil.  Others fell into apathy, and ceased to care about the Mirth for which they had laboured so hard.  Only a few, brave believers remained to regain ground against the new evil.  They sought others who, like them, remembered the potential for happiness that the world held.  Together with the brave knights of good, the Defenders of Yliakum, Mirth Guild\'s remaining members resisted the stagnation and corruption with which Yliakum had been strewn.

Organization:

Mirth is led by 2 leaders and an elected council.  Any member of level 3 or higher may make a proposal to the council, but it is ultimately the leaders and the council who decide guild policy.  Mirth Guild also has a Constitution, which cannot be changed without the consent of a majority of the guild\'s members.

Under the leaders and the council, the other members are divided into Sections based on their profession.  Within each Section are Section Leaders who are masters of their fields, and are responsible for ten members each.  Sections that are planned include Merchantilism, Smithing, Healing, and Faith (for clerics.)

Anyone who joins Mirth will be on probation for a week, during which time they will be expected to be active and Mirthful.  After this, they will need to take the Mirth Test, and if they pass they will have proved both their abilities, and their belief in the principles of Mirth.

If you wish to join Mirth Guild, please go to our forums and begin a thread in the Join Us area.  (Our forums are at http://p066.ezboard.com/bmirthguild  .)

Whether or not you choose to join us, I hope that you have a wonderful time in the world of Planeshift.  May the light of Mirth shine on you always!   :)

Half-Pint,
Mirthful Leader of Mirth Guild.

The nine enkidukaigods
There are nine enkidukaigods:
Raizuka god of light
Linu goddess of love
Makota god of courage
Danae goddess of the four winds
Wat god of earth
Reina goddess of water
Kamatz god of fire
Kendo, the youngest of the gods, god of the night
Orsisin father of the gods

Long time ago when the planet was yet a child the nine enkidukaigods lived on the face of the planet. But then darkness got brought into the world by a enkidukai named Qhwantig. Qhwantig was a very skillfull wizard. One day when Qhwantig was examining an old temple he stumbled over an ancient scroll. Qhantig started to read the scroll out loud to himself. This was a big mistake. There was a spell written in the scroll and this spell summoned the demonking Narek. Narek made Qhwantig the richest and most powerful enkidukai in the world. In return for this Qhwantig didn\'t banish Narek, even though the enkidukaigods had forbidden that kind of magic.

One day when Qhwantig got careless Narek killed him and stole the scroll. Now there was no mortal creature that could banish him. Narek started to summon hordes of demons and now the gods had to do something. There was a huge battle between the nine gods and Narek\'s army of demons. The gods managed to slaughter the demons and won the battle though it had been for a great cost. Makota, the god of courage, who had killed Narek was no longer. There were now only 8 gods.

As Makota drove his sword deep into the chest of Narek Narek had used his last strength to spit a fireball at Makota. Makota fell to the ground and dozens of demons jumped at him, sarting to eat him alive.

Makota\'s body was dead but his brothers and sisters managed to revive his body. Feeling betrayed by the enkidukai the gods left this mortal world to join their brother.

The birth of the enkidukai believers
Once there was an enkidukai named Raku Hunachie. Raku was a very religious enkidukai. One day when Raku closed his eyes in prayers inside the temple his prayers got interrupted by a voice. All of a sudden Raku couldn\'t move. The voice was the enkidukaigod of he night Kendo. Kendo now laid a very important task in the paws of Raku. He should gather his enkidukai brothers and sisters. It was up to them to clean the world from darkness and prepare for the return of Kendo. Raku thought it had been some kind of wizard trying to turn Raku into his slave. But when he opened his eyes a pendant lay on the top of the altar. The pendant was the legendary moonpendant, Kendo\'s very own pendant. With this as his evidence Raku started his quest and the Enkidukai belivers was born. Since then many winters has fallen upon this and and Raku Hunachie is no longer. The pendant has wandered from father to son and now it has reached a young enkidukai named Tepoc Hunachie.
