Has anyone else heard of a small little rock band from Canada named The tragically Hip?

I hate them... their singer sings the same note for 5 minutes and all their songs sound the same.  Their music really, really annoys me.

That's just me though.

D'uoh! When you said Status Quo I mistook it for Focus for some reason. You Must Watch This Video: Hocus Pocus You will bust a gut. The 70's had it all!

lately I've been hearing a lot of melodical, symphonic, gothic or industrial metal(maybe a little rock too), or something near that. The 69 eyes, After forever, theatre of tragedy, the sins of thy beloved, deathstars etc.

What the heck was that? Was it a really bad recording or a really bad band or both, and why did what I could hear sound like they were riffing on that cure song. Was that singer actually singing or did it just look like it.

The 70's had plenty of bad bands such as the Ramones and to prove it here is I Wanna Be Sedated

Good Rock never dies. Paul weller (of Style council) backed to the scenes one or two years ago with "As is now" and this should be the main single . The whole album is interesting...this is the intelligent way to play old-style minimal rock.

Personally I like 'em alright.  I mean, I definitely would not go anywhere NEAR saying that they're great; the songs do get quite repetitive, and the guy's voice is nasally and rather annoying a lot of the time, but sometimes that's just the sort of thing I need to listen to, ya know?

It's like what I go to when I just need to hear crap done in good taste.  :P

Panic! at the disco
* Parallo vomits.
I suggest the statue of Laanx gets turned into a statue of Parallo <3. An NPC could never replace the huge hole he left in my heart when he died  :'(

Here, realli, I have to agree.

* Xus vomits in agreeance

And Axl Rose called The Eagles of Death Metal "The Pigeons of Shit Metal"!
#1) Totally not clever.
#2) He used a potty word.
#3) The Eagels of Death Metal realli aren't all that great, true, but NO ONE talks to my man Josh Homme like that!

Who care what Axl said about someone? He's done a lot of stupid things, but he can/could sing and the rest of the band isn't too bad either.

Well... I care... That's why I... said something........

... I thought that was generally understood.

Anywho, I honestly don't care for Guns n' Roses... at all, realli.  I've not heard much of 'em, but what I have heard sounded like unimpressive high-pitched screeching without inspiration.
