Since the Fragnetics server is still sleeping, this might be a good time to bump this lost thread.

I've been addicted to Pink Floyd for quite a while. Not their very early songs (meaning mostly: Syd Barrett) - I guess I could get to like them given enough time but I just don't have the patience ;) The lyrics are great and it's not the kind of music you get tired of after a few times, in fact it's quite the opposite. I don't care much about the Gilmour vs Waters argument, I guess they each brought something, for example lyrics for Roger Waters (Time! A personal favourite), or a different style for David Gilmour (A Momentary Lapse of Reason is great, even if that's departing from the original style).

More recently my playlists include Deftones and Linkin Park, Massive Attack, Delerium, Evanescence, Norah Jones. And when I'm in the mood for some "celtic" metal, Cruachan, though some part of their work is just ... not worth mentioning.

Just found a cool site to listen to music: http://www.jiwa.fr. It's good quality and has a decent choice, you can store playlists/share them/... . It's in French but you can change the language at the bottom.

Thread resurrection!  \\o// (Why the hell I never been here on the forums, before?!)
I'm still in love for nineties (or older) bands. I think that the best one of that years is Stairway to Heaven (I sincerely thank dad for making me listen this music... :-[)
I keep thinking that if people as Kurt Cobain and Jimi Hendrix will miraculously resurrect in these days, near a TV on a music channel, after few minutes will run in the kitchen of the house looking desperately for a knife... you should know the reason.    :(
And then, when I need relaxing music the best is Enya, indeed...
*waits for more people resurrecting threads*

Right. In case of Kurt, to cut himself, obviously :P

But personal issues aside, don't forget Nirvana was a major factor in making TV music what it is today.

What I said was my opinion about people doing music in these days. I meant that nobody will find people playing songs as good as their's, or as other groups of that years.
Or at least I think so...
Tell me if I misunderstood.

Psh. Good music still lives. And will live on, even if less mainstream.

This guy decided to play the guitar upon hearing of Hendrix' death. You can say something good came out of all this, for today Satriani is *the* guitar god.
If you wish to look up and download Gazpacho from the last.fm site, you'll find top quality prog rock that easily stands up to the Pink Floyd material.
...How about some post-rock? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tuGrEynG68

And don't even get me started on contemporary punk/rock/metal bands that play better stuff than Cobain :P
His songs are nothing but radio-friendly tracks, hardly comparable to the legends of the 80's.

Seriously, just dig deeper into all that music stuff and you'll find many bands that still do the top-notch tracks.

Awesome, Cad.  I had forgotten about this.  It's fun to go back and look at how some of the tastes have changed over the years...and also what has stayed the same.

Let's see, what it's the ol' cd player..

Few Hardcore bands (the only ones I'll listen to, not so coincidentally):
Have Heart
Ruiner
Blacklisted

Also:
LaGrecia
Off With Their Heads
Bomb the Music Industry!
Attack in Black
Ryan's Hope

Pretty good range, I think.

KoRn - Eaten up Inside
KoRn - Twisted Transistor

I hate when people edit songs, though.
