DonkeyZ, with only 128MB of main memory you don\'t have enough. This game takes at least 300MB, and even if the whole of it doesn\'t need to be in the physical memory, you also have the operating system which is occupying a large part of it.

Try to upgrade, or to add physical memory. You can also extend your virtual memory, but in your case don\'t expect the program to run smoothly, as it will swap to the disk very often...

It depends on your operating system and how you configured it. 256 MB is a minimum not to feel too uncomfortable. Adding 256 MB to have 384 is better.

Since I don\'t know your system, I can\'t say much. Maybe it is old and not worth upgrading now, because the memory required is not as performant as for the new systems. In that case, it is not interesting to spend money on something that will be useless soon.

I run on XP Home, have 256 memory and 80 hard drive.  Brand new, nothing going on that did not come from factory. Do I have enough?

I\'d take a gamble and say Yes, you could probably play PS on that system.

But you never know... unoptimised code works in mysterious ways... ;)

Three Questions:

What is your video card?

How many programs do you have running in the background? (Press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to check - programs like norton, firewalls, Quicktime, etc. can slow your system down loads, and eat up ram)

How much VRAM do you have?
Right Click \"My Computer\"--->>>Properties--->>>Performance Tab--->>> Virtual Memory.

My computer has 2gb or VRAM since it only has 256mb of RAM. Quite often PS drops from 19 fps to 9, and in the cellar I can get a framerate of as low as 0.2 fps.
