hi
if i choose farmer as a profession,do i need herbalism also to make potions or can i just buy the ingredients needed at the shop?
and if i take herbalism also,do these skillpoints stack?
same question for training animals.

it doesn\'t matter what you choose, Planeshift is still Pre-Alpha, skills & jobs are not implemented yet.

i think farmer is just using equipment to plant seeds and grow crops, then sell them.

herbalism is making potions etc. using herbs you collect, that\'s something completely different.

None of the things you\'ve mentioned are currently implemented in the game. This includes professions, skillpoints and creatures.

Don\'t ask when they will be implemented, because nobody knows. It will be possible to train your character in the next version of PlaneShift (Crystal Blue) but trainable creatures and jobs most likely won\'t appear untill the Beta versions. Expect those in years to come, so don\'t hold your breath. ;)

I think a farmer needs herbalism, at least when you click on the job of Farmer it shows Herbalism (10) doesnt it?

Perhaps a farmer could grow crops like rubarb, queen of the meadow, st. johns wart, carpentors wart, etc.

Edit: He would still need herbalism to make them into anything.

I think you should just take it easy, and wait until you at least can do something that just looks like farming, before asking these kinds of questions. Besides, if someone could give you an answer right now, the answer would probably be different in a year or in two years. Just take one thing at a time. :)
