was going fine, now it has stopped

I have downloaded planeshift on two computers as my friend wanted to play to, it was working fine with no problems for around 2 weeks, then one day i logged on, it got to the game world and nothing worked, it had logged on fine but i could not move, the smoke coming out of a chimney had frozen, so had the rain but the sound was fine,  tried changing the veiw and it took around half an hour for anything to happen, this happened on both computers, one is not too powerful, the other is very powerful, it happened at exactly the same time and has not changed no matter what i do, i have done everything on the forum that sounded like it had anything to do with this but it did not work, i have uninstalled and downloaded again around 5 times but nothing works, it is not my internet connection as everything else on the internet works, i have a fast connection, broadband 1mb p/s so it should work, please someone help me, i really like this game and it would be really dissapointing if it turned out that i could not play.

hmm.. that\'s a weird problem, there\'s a key for stopping/starting all animation i think it\'s F9, but it could be one of the other function keys.

Do you mean your character is like frozen, and an eternity passes between two moves, or before the next frame is displayed ?

This is a known issue, apparently under some rare conditions your character can be frozen in that state. I know a few players who had this problem too. It is very weird, since I don\'t see many other explanations than a glitch related to the position. Where was it ? Near a tavern, or a fountain ?

If you don\'t have a lot of crystals on your character, the best advice I can give you is to create a new character.

did you try /spawn yet? you might have to run the updater first though, it\'s somewhere in your planeshift folder.

i have done all of these things, i have typed /spawn, pressed f9 and i have created a new character, none of these work, thanks for you help though, if you find any other ideas please tell me.

yes it does, it is exactly the same, i logon, the music is fine, everything loads up fine but everything is frozen, i cannot move and if i can it takes ages to respond,

i have just found out that this happened shortly after my brother tried to use a glitch that lets you climb walls, he tried to do it, it froze and he logged off, it might be affecting both because both computers are networked and share the internet connection

Did u update your drivers recently?

wallclimbing shouldn\'t cause lag on a new character, it probably has something to do with your computer. did you install anything right before this happened?

no i have not installed anything before this problem,

i just found out that i have a linkdead error, i am right now trying all of the things that people have said and i hope that might work

i finally managed to fix it, it turned out to be Linkdead, thanks to everyone who has helped me to try to fix this, my char had to be deleted but at least i can play
