Personal houses.
« on: December 06, 2003, 03:19:41 pm »
Im pretty sure that you will be able to have your own house. Im gonna take this idea a little further. What if when u create your charter, you will be presentated with a screen that you can choose in which city u wanna live. The first house doesn\'t cost anything, but is locatated in a bad neiborhood and is dirty and so on. Later on u can buy yourself (or with a partner :D) a nicer/bigger house. I think that would be cool..

not so good. I for example, would sell the place immediately and go in the woods. That would mean that I would have a major cash bonus...or if the place isn\'t sellable, then there should be near infinite of such flats available. Trouble, trouble.

But there should be some benefits of sleeping indoors than outdoors. And vice versa, sometimes it\'s better to be inside(stormy weather) and sometimes not(fresh air and health stuff...)

bah i hope you could create a house anywhere. but in cities and stuff it cost more to make a house. there could be an entire sector for houses in the city.

that way its almost like the city would grow as the game does, and almost gives the player the impression that the game is run by the player and not the developers.

Also you should be able to make a house in the middle of no where and your house tax or whatever you want to call it wouldnt be as much or even not cost you at all. but i think for this idea to work the developers would have to make the planeshift world huge or house crowding would be a huge problem.

2ndly i think we should be able to carry tents or portable bed like sleeping bags for better sleep or something but im sure there\'s a post about it somewhere already so i wont go into detail.  ;)

One Town???? That would reduce that amount of game play?? i like the tent or sleeping bag idea tho but i would really like to see more than one town that would make it much more to explore and learn.

I hope to see much beatyful places...like:
Big metropol cities,Underground rat cities,a caravans in the desert,Cliff cities,UNDERWATER cities,maybe even cloud cities-for really good people,swampy villages,etc.

and then there are these woods where elven kind lives..

for the overpopulation->I think when devs get lot of servers U make Ur char again and place it into one of the server and that server becomes ur home...everything u do in there and build will stay there..If u want to move ur char one server to another everything youve done will stay homeserver or will be deleted..:)

uhmm.. yeah, floating cities, very realistic >.>

I think that houses should cost a lot of money, there is no way to give every player that creates a char can have a house, there\'s simply not enough space for that(taken there are already 100.000 registered characters in this tech demo..).
Only really dedicated people should be able to buy a house, and maybe they could rent rooms to other people that aren\'t as rich. so poor people can\'t get a house unless they make friends with rich people, this also increases the amount of people that really roleplay.

When I said \"floating city\" I meant like floating on water, not in the sky.

Yeah, first of all, free houses is a major no. lynx_lupo is right, too many houses, and blatantly obvious abuse.

And second, ONE TOWN? That is just ridiculous and boring.

And I think the overpopulation system just fixes itself with the expansion of the servers, I mean that\'s why they shut them down so much, right? (grrrr X( ....) And I think that the dev\'s have some sort of weird intention of being able to get to the surface of the planet eventually. It\'s a little obvious, but you never know :]

Floating cities wouldn\'t be that unrealistic, but that is getting off topic. The airspace is limited, so probaly out of the question.

I have seen some pretty cool ideas for houses. Concerning the house you get, they will probably sprawl out of the city walls until there is a limit? That would be a little more realistic.

Harwen Please read the posts before you reply. HE just said by \"floating city\" he meant floating on water. Then off course you go on talking about how the airspace is limited and saying it was a bad idea when thatw asn\'t his idea.

Then you say something very interesting that Axsyrus also mentions. You said that a floating city wasn\'t realistic. Realistic? Where did I here you say that before. Maybe it was when you said to me, \"But realism out of WHAT game again? A game with magic and dragons running around. Very real, I think The Sims Forums is a better place for this.\"

1st-remember how the world is, ok? It\'s a stalictite, so, somethings you guys say are strange having the world image in mind.

UNDERWATER cities

Three of the levels are always underground so, yes, much probably there will be cities under water, probably filled with those green elves :P

I would like to work you know? If everyone has a house why am I a builder? And bad neiborhoods depend on the players who live there so that would mean that the Devs would have to locate it and then create a house there. Just leave the building to me! ;) :D
