« on: December 08, 2003, 11:26:22 pm »
3 things i need to ask Dev\'s.
1-I\'d like to join, if you need any info for me to- ask.
2-Can\'t you release a version of MB that just has combat, or SOMETHING? can you release what you\'ve done so far!?
3-How do i buy things with crystals?
I really really really want to help. I can do texturing, 2d graphics, SOME 3d, INSANELY basic code, and am very good with ideas (though you have those aplenty no doubt..

Well, depends on what you want to do.  If you want to do any sort of programming stuff then your first task is to get all the source code off of sourceforge and build the project yourself.  That way you have a \'base of operations\' to work from.   If you want to help in art/sound then you should have a portfolio online so we can view your work.

Then you can talk to us on IRC about what you are interested in doing and we can get a good idea of your skills.

If it were that easy then we would have done it long ago.  Many things have changed going from MB to CB.  A lot of it is \'under the hood\' and the players will not notice a lot of it.  But entire systems have changed from the way we read from the database to how data is displayed on the screen.  With such fundamental changes it is hard to do a code \'feeze\'  when we can do a release.

3-How do i buy things with crystals?

At the moment it is through a web page but there will be npc merchants in CB to buy things from with real money.

PlaneShift is often a difficult ( but rewarding! ) project to work on.  It\'s not something that you can jump right in and do stuff.  There is a lot of dedication involved and often seems like more work then your real life job.  :)  So if you say you really want to help you really have to mean it and work all out as much as you can.
