Crystal Hunt
« on: December 09, 2003, 05:37:36 am »
For those who want/need to, I\'m setting up a program called the Crystal Hunt. Regardless of allignment, a group(s) of Planeshifters will scavenge around their assigned spots.(Hydlaa Plaza,Desert, etc).

Once enough jems are found, or all the groups\' places\' (confusing) crystals are gone, I/we will split up the crystals, give a fair amount to the particerpants, and they may go back to where they were/wanted. This program won\'t be executed until the final version is out(a LONG time.:( )Please post if you wish to particerpate.

The crystals are not going to be a major part of the real game.  The only reason they are in there is to give people something to do in the tech demo.

The crystals will probably go away when the next release comes out (early next year most likely).

If you read the character pages The crystals are Kran Food ^^

Not a big part of the actual game, just something to keep people entertained at the moment, but mabey they will still be around in CB. (for eating, yummy)  ;)

The only reason that the crystals should disappear would be if the Azure Sun suddenly disappeared as well, which I don\'t think it will soon. :) However, I doubt that crystals will play an important role in the everyday life.

Yummy crystals! :]

I don\'t see crystals playing an important roll in the future...they\'re not worth much are they?

Also, the \"Final\" version won\'t come out for years and years, by which time most people here will be rich...

Crystals will have little utility (Apparently, only feeding Krans, and there probably won\'t be a large number of them once the remaining, more attractive races are implemented), so its dependant on their scarcity.  I would imagine that they become rather scarce once the Crystal Hunt is eliminated (if they remain in-game at that point), CB or otherwise, then they may or may not (probably so, I would imagine) become more common once Kran-feeding is implemented.  I think that the price of crystals will probably stablize at some moderatly expensive level, but still very affordable.  Of course this is all conjecture, I haven\'t the slightest idea...

Crystals are particularly used by Krans to power their metabolism.

Has anyone considered the fact that maybe it\'s just a joke?  ?(

YES ! I want to take part in that, and I think it\'s a good Idea... at least if there are still crystals in the full game (and I think they\'ll still be there).

Of course crystals won\'t be important, but that\'s what makes the crystal hunt so interesting : it\'s useless (even now it is useless, since you can only get items with an incredible amount of crystals, and you\'ll lose them once CB is out).
So the only purpose of the crystal hunt will be to remind us of Molecular Blue, maybe we can create a kind of tradition, which newcomers won\'t fully understand, but some of them would still go crystal hunting because they\'ve been told it was the tradition to collect crystals.

OK, it won\'t work, but if you\'re still around when we get a real game, I\'ll definitely help you to collect crystals Rakera  ^^

PS : it\'s late and I\'m too tired to check my spelling/grammar...

The only solution is that crystals metabolise very slowly, allowing a Kran to eat something like once a month.

It had crossed my mind briefly, but it makes sense in a way.  Yliakum has some sort of strange rock fetish.  Talad is a rock god who created the Kran, a rock race.  Light comes from a giant rock, and even Yliakum itself is a hollowed-out rock.  So I guess it makes since that rocks are the diet of the Kran.

What\'s the story of the crystals, though?  Are they just average, run-of-the-mill jewels, or are they like The Azure Sun, special and magical?  Perhaps Diamonds break off of The Azure Sun and fall to Yliakum, where, if not consumed quickly, they age into Emerald and finally Ruby forms; I imagine that Rubies provide Kran with less sustaniance than a Diamond...

Wow, Grak....looks like you put some thought into that. I don\'t really think that the crystals will be that rare in future realese if they are there cuz food is not that rare. So, if the food is really rare then wouldn\'t all of the Krans die from starvation or from killing each other cuz somone found a crystal? I think not so the crystal hunt is a pretty good idea, but we will have to wait and see what happens in the future.

Gosh I sure hope not, that would completely destroy the story I\'m about to write  ;(
