PlaneShift Newbie Center
« on: December 13, 2003, 03:08:12 pm »
Yeah, well, it\'s as the topic says. I\'m doing this new information dedicated to helping newbies of all ages on how to do stuff in PlaneShift. :) So feel free to contribute anything you want, as it\'ll take very little time to set up due to the php stuff I\'ve made myself. *Feels proud*... Just mail a link (or the whole thing) to me at gronomist@hotmail.com, or wait for the forum section to get up, and you can post it there.

For people who might be curious as to why I\'m doing this, it\'s because I know a pretty decent amount of people who are tired of telling people where to go, and what to do. Now it can all be gathered in one place. :)

It\'s quite empty at the moment, but that\'s why I need everyone\'s help to fill it up with stuff that can help anyone, so go ahead and do your part in helping the newbies of this community. :D

Here are the links:
http://psnc.no-ip.com/
http://psnc.no-ip.org/
http://psnc.no-ip.info/

The .info one works for sure, but the other ones might be down a little, as they\'ve just been registered, and it may take some time to set up.

Btw: Moogie, I wasn\'t sure whether to post this in the Newbie forum or here, so just move it around according to what you think is the best. :P I just knew that more people would see it, if it got posted here... Oh well.

Edit: The site is optimized for 1024x768 with Internet Explorer, but please tell me if it\'s bugged with other browsers and such, and I\'ll see what I can do.

All 3 links work fine with my Opera. I\'d say it would be good to add the technical stuff like: linux how-to, faq of the probs, about linkdead, and the database error threads.

Good job Grono :)

Great work Grono! :) Are you going to have a kind of technical help section also? You could put links to deleting an account, updating the game, updating video card drivers, etc.

Oh, and if you want to make a thread with a link to the site in Newbie Help, I\'ll stick it for you.

[Edit: Didn\'t see Lynx already suggest the tech help stuff. :P]

Sure, I\'ll probably add some of that stuff tomorrow as I\'ve got some other work I need to do first, but it\'ll come. :D

Great job. All three came up fine in IE and Netscape for me.
Don\'t know if you want to add the Guild List links in there for people with those questions.

It\'s not at all ugly, hook. No it\'s not. :P I actually made everything myself, so I think it looks just fine, and if you think you can make something that\'s better, then go ahead. :)

Woo! Great idea! But you should work on the design. Maybe you can register an adress in http://www.dot.tk something like http://www.psnoob.tk its hard to remember the no-ip thingy, especialy for n00berts. Wonder how theyll find your site. This is realy a good idea.

Okay, I\'ve just put some new graphics on the site, and I hope it looks better than the last one. :P However, it doesn\'t like 800x600, 1280x1024 or 1600x1200... So you\'ll have to stick with 1024x768 until I figure a way that I can let people choose between diffrent modes. :)

I definitely like the new scheme, Grono. :)

I think there\'s a bug with the menu though...? Only the first links in both sections of the navigation bar change colour when you hover the mouse over them.
