To Firestorm or Thekkur
« on: March 21, 2002, 11:22:25 pm »
Actually, this goes to anyone that knows how the demo
is coming along.

At first the demo was going to come out in Dec, 2001.
At least that is what I\'ve read. And now it\'s in the end of March.

This is my question: Is the demo really coming out in
march? I\'m just wondering because I am tired of
waiting. I hope that I don\'t sound bad or something by
asking this, but I would like to know how finished the
demo is at the moment. I don\'t mind if it will be released
in the end of May or even later, It\'s just disapointing
when the month is over and it turns out that it\'s still
months before it\'s coming out.

I may not be able to read what\'s on the forums for a
while, so If anyone reads this and responds, Thanks.

as someone from the server/client team put it... it shouldnt be considered a playable demo but only a technical snap shot. sure you can walk around a bit, chat with your friends but it will be very limited to what you will be able to do.

Even if it is as Kendaro said, it will give us the chance to do something while we wait for the other features to be implemented.  Users will be able to know a little more about the engine and to report any bugs that may appear,  which is very important too. Besides,  you can see how some of the races will be like.

I don\'t mind waiting for the full release, I am sure it will be the greatest MMORPG ever.

Thanks for responding.

I already know that it was only going to be a walk
around and chat thing, just to show the engine.
It was how finished the demo is that I was
wondering. The news on the main site said that they
have had a chat session in it, so it must be nearly
finished.

I\'m sure it will be worth waiting for the game to
finaly come out, I don\'t want to pay a monthly fee
like most other online RPGs. This will be the first
1st person online game for me to play, and I\'m very
excited.

Has anyone here played Everquest? I was wondering
what that game is like. $10 a month is alot of money
with atleast 150000 ppl playing it.

I talked to Washi in irc chat, and he said that the demo was running pretty smoothly. He said, though, that it definitly wouldn\'t be out this weekend, which means its definitly next week/week end!

Forget that blocky Everquest stuff!! I\'m happy with my little anime character sprites and their little emotion thingys.. hehe. Too bad I can\'t pay for it. Anyways, I\'d pay for Lineage,Nexus TK, or Ragnarok over Everquest ANY DAY >P Oh yeah, Final Fantasy XI But it\'s not out yet... So yanno ^_^;

Wow! Everquest is making over $11,000,000/ month.

I would love to be able to play Everquest, but I
hate the thought of spending money on things
like that. Plus I live in a rural area, which means
I don\'t get city bonuses like a 56K modem(mine\'s
a 21.6K, and the phone line doesn\'t even support
DSL, cable and the like ;( ).

That problem brings up another question.
Can I even play Planeshift ?(  or any multi-player game?
I just bought an excellent computer:
1.6 P4, 512 MB Ram and all kinds of top of the line
things(a nice deal too, $800 for it and the monitor).
But the modem is the problem.

Does PR stand for programmer?
Thanks again for responding, and I hope I didn\'t
get any of you upset by bringing up Everquest.

And one more thing. Where do you get your
pictures? The ones below the message.
I\'m guessing you guys/girls made them yourself(except
for Cyonamie and maybe Golbez).

PR stands for public relations.  I\'ll leave the modem question up to the programmers.  I\'m not too sure about the sigs myself, I never use them.

Thanks Flik. Could you ask one of the programmers
about the modem? I would really appreciate it.
By the way, how\'s my pic? I know the Habile part
needs touching up though.
