Can't run it well.
« on: December 16, 2003, 06:11:55 pm »
First off: I have a P4 1.4 ghz. computer with 256 megs of RAM and a 16 meg ATI Rage 4x video card. (I know I know. :-()  I tried running it in Open GL mode, but it really stunk. Only got like one frame a second if I was lucky.  (Video card, probably.) So then I ran it in Safe Mode, which I believe will run it in Software mode, but I got nearly the same performance.  Is this my computer or could something be messed up and causing this?

Ok, thank you, I hadn\'t thought about it maybe being lag.  I will check out that file you mentioned and see if I can figure out anything.

Try putting u\'r graphics cards openGL settings to as low as possible m8, it might help. There should be an option in u\'r display options sumwhere. All ATI cards have it. :D

That\'s what odd for me, Xordan, I can\'t find the graphics settings for my ATI card.  (I got to Desktop, right click, Properties. Settings -> Advanced and I don\'t see any settings for Open GL.  I do see where I can update the drivers and I think I will try that.)  Am I even looking in the right place?

I\'ve been browsing the tech forum and pieced together that this game seems to have it in for Radeons. Running it with software rendering helped me some and i just downloaded the new katalyst drivers so maybe that will help. Always make sure your card has the latest drivers. And if all else fails, fiddle around with the cfg opengl file.
