« on: December 26, 2003, 01:15:07 am »
I know about \'Linkdead\' and I read to not post any threads about it. But seeing as how one of the members accessed the client and changed the compatibility and it worked. I wondering how to do that. I have DSL, so I bet its the proxy, or even if my DSL is running a firewall, and any give me any advice. Plz email me at angelis112@sbcglobal.net. THANX GUYZ! hope to see you guyz in the game!

i have DSL, and my computer runs on WindowsME, i installed every part, and the assembler, it starts up fine, char creation is fine, I just would like to have a method to fix it. If a solution is inputting an IP how would I go about doing so? Or, changing the compatibility how would I go about doing that also? I\'m a gamer, yet, I don\'t know much about MMORPG programs...anyone plz, any advice would be appreciated

Sorry no one is answering you.  I don\'t know how to fix that.  I suspect it is either a firewall issue or a bug in how your character was created.  Make sure you use Quick Create to create your char and see if that helps.  Also make sure all your points are at zero and everything is filled out correctly.

If it isn\'t that, it must be a firewall blocking you.

You might want to get yourself a better OS, too. WinME is by far the worst Windows version out there, so I hear. I think you can only change compatability settings with WinXP, which is why you can\'t find where to do that on your system.

Do you know if you\'re connected through a router? If you are, set it to allow UDP traffic through port 13331. Same goes for your firewall, if you can\'t turn it off (I advise doing that though, much less hassle).

Hope this helps :)

Most of the time I spent working on MB, I was developing in WinME, so I know it will work there.  I then switched to Win XP Pro, and I know it works there as well.  I\'d guess his problem is firewall or a bug, as I said earlier.

Razielis,

1) the message about the CEL variable should be ignored, don\'t worry about it;

2) the character you have created is in the database and valid, it should mean your network settings are all right;

3) if you wonder about how entering the IP address instead of the server name address, type it by the server field, when you connect. It should show like this :

 Please note that the IP has changed : 203.81.47.74  (it is not the same as in some old posts in these forums).
