Getting server is not running or...

Hello,

I have tried for a day or so to connect ...first I got the linkdead error...came here and found out the problem.  Now I am getting this error after character creation and putting in the ip instead of the servername...

THE SERVER IS NOT RINNUNG OR IS NOT REACHABLE.  Does anyone know what the problem is or how I can fix it.   I really want to try the game out it looks GREAT!!!

Ahh, didnt see where you tried already with the IP, sorry.

But if you are behind a firewall, or have XP firewall turned on, that could be the problem..

I\'m getting the same problem. I\'ve done all the firewall stuff and changed the IP address, yet it won\'t let me on. I then checked the fragnetics site and I saw the server was up and people were playing.

Yeah, I have the same problem... But it was working sometime ago... Now its Not reacheble... Whats wrong?

Well I figured out that problem and ran into another one...I was using IP 203.81.47.27 but wasnt working ...i saw another post that gave a different IP which was 203.81.47.74 and made it past and got on the game (somewhat) while it was loading world it just froze up and I let it sit there for about 30 minutes but my hard drive just worked and nothing happened...does anyone know what the problem is?

Razarshadow, Planeshift needs to initialise its data the first time, the wait is normal and can last up to one or even several hours in some extreme cases. As long as you don\'t get an error message, it\'s all right.

Yes, the correct IP for the fragnetics site has changed, now it is 203.81.47.74.

Sometimes, I also have the problem with the \'server not reachable\', even using the IP address instead of the name. It has to be the network connection between your computer (so probably the provider) and the fragnetics server. Since it is far away, it happens that the link between the two is momentarily broken.

Ok then ill try tonight and let it run until it either finishes or errors out.  I have cablemodem so I didnt think it would have taken that long.
