Legendary Quests
« on: January 03, 2004, 12:13:26 pm »
I propose a idea for a few quests which I call Legendary Quests because they are indeed Legendary and only one person can compliant it a example of a quest like this would be like so.
Strange man- Hello I have a job for you
You- What is it?
Strange man- You must find the general and kill him
You- General?
You- Kill?
Strange man- The general the guy who is fighting in the war to the south of here
Strange man- You don?t know how to kill you aren?t any good for this

(You get to the battlefield and you find who is the general and you kill him just as some one else who wanted to win shot a arrow missed)
You get a message
Congratulations your portrait and a plaque with your name on will be hung on the walls of the Quest guild which only people who have done a Legendary quest can get in.
This would be a incentive to become one of the best. Oh you can?t complete 2 Legendry quests.

Why would anyone want to join the \'quest guild\'? People can make their own guilds. BTW, it has nothing to do with being legendary, just with powerleveling. :|
However I like the idea of \'rare\' quests, not only for fighters but also for other professions. The quests should be hard and only a few people should be able to do it (maybe one, preferably some more). The reward should also be greater than some stupid plaque ;).
So there could be a quest to brew some king 100 litres of the finest beer for brewers and the reward could be something like a excellent piece of beer brewing equipment. Money would be a bad reward since money isn\'t a \'rare\' good and can be obtained in many ways.

I have only called it a guild because I don?t want to call it a building. Also I have not elaborated what the building looks like which i will now. It is at least 2 castles high and very big also you can buy any thing in the shop in the shop in there apart form quest only items.

Hmm, it sounds kinda wierdo to me. I dontthink this would fit in Planeshift. Maybe in other games...
And why do you need 2 quest then? Isnt it enough with one?
Where can you meet this man? He just runs around and gives legendary quests? And what is you play 1 000 000 houers and you dont meet him?
A new day, a new failure!

What\'s so weird about this, it\'s just a quest that is given away by somebody(doesn\'t matter who, just some random NPC) and that dissapears once someone has solved it. This way only 1 person can solve it, and he can get into some kind of hall of fame(a guild house, a castle, whatever. doesn\'t really mater..)

I think that the only way for this to work would be that characters have to compete to complete this quest first.  If the npc dissapeared after the 1st person he told it to, the person recieving may not have the ability to complete the quest.  However, if the npc stayed telling everyone who talked to him about it, people could compete for the chance to finish this legendary quest and get the special item/title or whatever.

I think ther should be a \"Hall of Legends\" :) (the place for plaques) for ppl who finished the quest and that the rewards should be weapons, armor, or secret items! (Ex: MOON SHARD- allows the user to kill enemies instantly) or something of the like!  Also I like Ghostslayers idea for the recruiting of the quest!!

Um...i can see where the idea going....it\'s more about unique items as i see it...so there should be BRUTALY hard quest and at the end of it you get unique i tem that doesn\'t respawn...i seen that work...it doesn\'t have to be really powerful...just unique with it\'s own story...
