Example:


You use axe wich makes 100-120 damage.
You need 50 Str.

If you have 40 str: (-20%)
You make 80-96 damage.

If you have 25 str: (-50%)

You make 50-60 damage.

if you have 5 str: (-100%)
You make 0-0 damage.

It means, your not able to make any damage with this weapon (you cant move it ;D)

The weapon bracke faster.
40 str 20%*5 .. the weapon bracke 100% faster

25 str. 50%*5 250% faster.

So if someone give a newbie huge weapon, he will be not able to make so much damage, and will not use it  a long time.

I like that idea! About possibility to kill yourself with weapons you\'re not proficient with. But I think that mustn\'t include bows and throwing weaps - I can\'t believe anyone could shoot himself with a bow...

Well to make it fair for all weapon types, you could just incorporate a modified \"Critical Miss\" type system like in D&D.  With range weapons you could slip and drop your ammo, your aim goes wildly off, etc.
With melee weapons you could either again drop your weapon, fall over, hurt yourself, etc.

Basically the lower your skill/stat is compared to the item recommended, the higher you have to have a critical miss.

I think it should count for ranged weapons. have you ever shot a bow, i have and i\'ll tell it\'s real easy to have the string hit you in the forarm on the release, and it smurfs real bad.

and as for throwing wepons i know i would cut my self to crap trying to throw a knife or a ninja star.
