This actually reminds me of an article I read awhile back, aparently First Person Shooters are educational; can\'t entirely remember why, but sounds good to me.

Yes, I\'ve heard this too... FPS are supposed to enhance a person\'s visual acuity, specifically for noticing details quickly, etc.

Anyway, back on topic.... yes beer is good :D
I\'m not really sure if it actually makes you play any better, but it can\'t hurt to conduct an \"experiment\" of my own  ;)

I highly doubt this, Beer only decreases your reaction time which would wreck a game of counter strike because its all about reactions and team work.

although I do know for a fact that a glass (a wine glass that is) of red wine a day is good for you. ( but not unitll you have a fully developed liver or whatever that part of your body that filters out the bad stuff). :D

A survey of this type would be very unreliable there are way to many factors invovled to get a reliable result most likely it was just chance that the drunkards came out on top.

eg   drunkan pro counter strike gamer vs amature Counter Strike gamer . (is very likely the pro will come out on top.)

HeHe!!! :D

Theres always a so called expert or scientist somewhere that will say that they\'ve found all this stuff out just to get there name mentioned, it happens all the time. Just ignore most of it untill lots of \"experts\" (particularly pesimistic ones) say that its true.

This beer improves gameplay sounds like another stupid \"oh look we happened to get this result first time, lets release it before doing more tests\". Its a bit like some research that was done years ago that said \"Israeli fighter pilots were more likely to have female babies\" I mean come on wtf were they thinking with that one!!
I have returned!!

While beer may dampen your reflexes, it also impairs your judgement- and *that* might be beneficial for many games.  (I.e. normal judgement impairs optimal gameplay)
I was playing some random snowboarding game, and I put on these huge glasses from a friend who\'s legally blind... and I got the highest score of the night.  Something to think about (or don\'t, it was just cause we all sucked and mashed buttons randomly.)

If a) beer improves FPS performance and b) FPS\'s are educational, than by syllogism, beer enhances your education!!

I think the solution is obvious, we need to do a lot of research on this topic.  We have to play a lot of games and keep track of the scores and how many drinks consumed.

Volunteers anyone.
