Limits...but in a good way!
« on: January 07, 2004, 11:05:29 pm »
I think that its only fair to all newbies that if you are between lvl 1 and lets  say 3 that you should not be able to lose items! I mean it will be hard enough as it is for a newb! Plain and simple! :)

I think that\'s it\'s fair that newbies with less than 20 skill points all round can\'t lose weapons or whatever.

In a MUD i played, there was a place where newbie can take back some basic equipement (near the spawn place). It\'s a nice alternative to prevent the loss of equip

i think it wouldn\'t be very realistic if you didn\'t lose your stuff, but maybe if you go to the death realm your equipment will go with you and you could get your other stuff back from an NPC when you\'ve been ressurected..
anyways, i think all this shouldn\'t be just for newbies as they would only be able to lose stuff you can get back in less then an hour anyways, so there\'s no real problem.

I don\'t really like this idea, because then there\'s no rush too level up.

Do you want a rush to level up?

Didn\'t think so...

A good way would be:

Example:

You have totaly 100 skillpoints

and someone have 110. then he is orange(color on of his name) (10% higher)
if someone have 120 then he is red(name color)(20% higher)
if 130 then Black (30% higher)

if someone is black you lose anithing after you beeng killed,

90 skillpoints (-10%) green
80 SP. Gray (-20%)
70 sp. White (-30%)

That\'s a good idea, but maybe a little more to the black level, and maybe not %..
+100 -> +* Black
+75 -> +100 dark red
+50 -> +75 red

+25 -> +50 light red

-25 -> +25 green

-50 -> -75 light green
-75 -> -100 gray
-100 -> -* white

Hehe,

The values and so on are only example values ...

I never give something how it have to be or so. i just give an idea with example values .. The proger have to think about the corect values ..

If they think thats good...

Question:

+25 are Skillpoints or % ?

The best way to clear the skill diference is to use %.

Because if you have 1000 str and someone have 975 .. thare is nearly no diference ..

if someone have 100 and 75 the diference is much biger between the player /monster

So its not rly always corect.

Example: you do 1000 damage and the other one 975 ..

100 and 75 damage . By using % values, it auto. change the diference between every color .. it becomes biger.

100 - 70 dam 1000 - 700 dam

If you would have 1000000 the -25 skillpoints would not make big diference ^^.

If you dont understand something ask.. my english is not the best ;)
