Is the Reassembler safe to download?
« on: January 08, 2004, 05:24:27 am »
Is the Reassembler safe to download? When I click on a download link I get a pop up saying that this file could harm my computer. Has anybody else gotten this pop up? And if so has anything happened when you downloaded the Reassembler?

The reason for that is most likely because it is a .bat files and they can run like an executable.  In this case it just does a copy.  You can open up the .bat file in something like notepad and take a look at what it does.

Newer versions of Internet Explorer will always say that with certain file types.

Exactly, so you can\'t sue Micro$oft when your comp crashes becuase you dl\'ed a virus-containing file.  Although it is very annoying.  (Though the reassembler does not, in fact, contain a virus.)
