First in a (nonlinked) article someplace on line. Then /. posted about it, and because of that, it too me several days to download the game.   Then today, i realized I\'d have to download the whole new beta, and that took a while.;)

By the time I relized I should run the Updater, it was down. Hopwefully I\'ll be able to see the world sometime this week. It sounds very cool.   :P

Oh, and yes. This is my first post. Hello all! Pleased to meet you :]

I think my Everquest subscription expired and it would be a few days before I could resubscribe, so I went searching for free mmorpg\'s... tada.  Now a year later I\'m bored of Everquest and just randomly remembered planeshift.it so I\'m back.  :-D

Do you people realise that this thread was started just a little more than a year ago? This is the longest lasting thread that I have seen in along time.

Me?

Found it back when it was at AB (where? I don\'t know, their was only 2 people online so I uninstalled it and forgot about it.

Then about 10-11 months ago I found it again on google, Installed it, played it for quite a long time, ran out of hard drive space so uninstalled it, forgot about it.

A month after then I remembered it again and started checking the website everyday (this was JAN/FEB 2004) until CB was released!

Then at about October last year (which was 2004 for you forgetful people), I got bored and downloaded the Linux package to see if I could compile it under Cygwin, failed at that. a couple of days later I downloaded the Windows package and played it for a couple of days, then uninstalled it.

Then CB was released, tryed to download it that night, was unsuccessfully for about a week(I am on 56k) then downloaded it on a T1 connection and finally got it in time for new years.

In total that is about  1 GB (Probably less) just for planeshift. That is alot on 56k.

Now for what you all wanted to hear......I sellected google!

I originally started out playing RuneScape by Jagex LTD. out of England.  However, the game was p2p, and Jagex doesn\'t seem to care about anyone who doesn\'t send them $$$... hmm sounds kinda like Micro$oft...  Annnywaayy...  I decided to Google Free MMORPG and came across PS at some point in Oct.

I found it several months ago, in June, perhaps.  I actually found PS through GameSpot, in their Beta Center section.  It was under the \"Open Beta,\" so i decided to check it out.  And am thrilled with it!  :D

I found PS through anpther game\'s Forum.
A very unhappy player & his wife were leaving that other title; & were kind enough to let the rest of us know why & where to find your great game.
Sorry for their grief, but very grateful that they pointed me, my Spouse, & others to PlaneShift.

Viva la PlaneShift! :+)
