Question on the new Skeleton System.
« on: January 13, 2004, 11:04:31 am »
Will this new modeling system allow \"rag doll\" physics?  That is, would it be possible to drag an unconscience companion out of harms way, and have their body behave as if it were a rag doll, gently flopping along as you pulled?

I only ask because rag doll physics is very important to me. ;)

hehe yeah! from the comments from developers it seem rag dol physics will be in game. Im hoping that a hit from magic or physical attack, if powerfull enough, could throw people like 300 feet into a wall! That would be way cool! No other game does that ya know! But then theres that no PKing *tears* so you cant see your best friend be thrown like a rag doll... a damn shame i think....

The only PKing they are allowing is duels, arena fights, and guild wars.  Anything other than that they haven\'t decided on.

What i realy wana see ragdoll with is comabat. When people are fighting i want to see them bend over from blows and stuff, not just go \"ugh\" and not even flinch.

Am I the only one who thinks that there is a huge difference between PK and PvP?

Ragdoll would be bad-ass but remember it\'s a FREE MMORPG with a FREE ENGINE.
BTW, there\'s a huge difference between PK and PvP, PK is the bastardly murder type and PvP is the more \'fair\' type (duels, wars, etc).

well whatever but i hope ragdoll physics will be implemented for huge power full blows. Even gandalf gets thrown 300 feet into a wall. This also brings up wall damage. Im hoping that the arena walls will get cracks and with more powerfull attacks  huge craters where players have hit the wall. Finally an arena fight worth watching. Would be like gladiators on like super steroids... Though Im hoping if all of this is implemented that you would take damage hitting the wall at 30 miles per hour. That would add like a whole new strategy. Would be pretty cool if the arena battles turned into a mini version of soul caliber 2. hehe that would be the shiznit!

heheh...as long as it\'s not too boring I\'m fine, I usually don\'t fight much (I mean PvP) but still, there are so many things better then turnbased...that would kill it for so many people :P

I don\'t see many situations where ragdoll physics would be logical in the game, however I\'m pretty sure that CrystalSpace has a built-in physics engine that allows for this, so it\'s pry possible anyway.
Ninjas have feelings too.  Mostly they feel like dancing.

u trying to say that no monster will die ever or something, cuse thats what rag doll physics would be used for, a body falling limply to the ground or something
