I\'ll cut right to the point with a quote from Grakim in the thread RolePlaying in its purest form started by Golbez:

Well such a site will soon exist! I\'ll list some of the things you can expect to see once its up.

  • Roleplay Forums
  • An applet to interface wiht the official PS roleplay channel
  • A published stories section with reviews
  • A character generator with dice for roleplaying
  • A guide to roleplaying
  • A group for helping the flow of roleplaying in-game
  • A Planeshift World section for filling in holes in the setting


This is all subject to change, so thigns can be added and/or changed.

EVERYONE is welcome to help out, whether you offer advice, help work on the site, post some stories, or just visit the site. This will be very user based, so it\'ll be great for the community, plus it\'ll help the devs with the story.

Right now; I and Windwalker will be starting the project off, with Golbez helping out and possibly doing the RolePlay guide. Also, we hope to include Grakim in this as it is his idea.

In the future we hope to become official \'RP Admins\', if you will. Keeping roleplay in the community active in-game.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, or advice will be GREATLY appreciated.

An honorable endeavor, Devoted.  Perhaps it will be fully ready by the time CB comes around.

Btw, Tok\'ra it may be the same kind of subject but it isn\'t what the other thread is for.

Golbez\'s post was asking what actions would be taken to enforce roleplaying in Planeshift, which then stemmed into a discussion regarding the lack of roleplaying in other games and the importance of roleplaying\'s presence. This thread is an announcement of a new site regarding roleplaying in Planeshift, also used to get members of the community\'s opinions, ideas, thoughts, etc. regarding the site. While they happen to both refer to roleplaying in Planeshift, they are not the same topic. I apologize if I took some time out of your busy life by forcing you to view this rather insignificant piece of \"crapola\" as you so lovingly put it. At any rate, I would prefer that this thread not turn into an argument about where it belongs, as that is for the mods to decide, so I would appreciate it if you would not post anything unless it is some sort of constructive remark, thought, or idea. Thank you.

why not just keep it here? we have a roleplaying forum. it would be alot cleaner just to keep it here on the forums...

well yeah, that would be the thing to do if we were just thinking of running RP forums. But we will not only have that, but a place to publish good posted stories with reviews, a good way to promote the RP irc channel, it\'ll be more organized with, it will be easier for people new to roleplaying, etc. There are plenty of benefits of going beyond just a single roleplaying forum.

And RP forums can do it if enough people join the boards, so i\'ll pray Talad so that it happens...  8)

I\'ll gladly assist you guys as much as I can in making this project a reality, as it very much interests me.  Hopefully it will become a sourcebook for all things RP in Planeshift.
