OK OK, i know its your intention to make the game free, but i think a MMORPG with the features planeshift has is still FREE if you only ask a one time fee to purchase the game in a box...

Think of it this way.... the game is FREE, your just paying the $50 for the box :P

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

That is not what planeshift is about, and will never be about...get it through your head.

It wouldn\'t make it faster, most of the current devs would quit and people would go play better pay MMORPGs.

why would anyone quit just becaue someone who can work full time on the project is hired? If just one or two full time artists were hired with donation money i doubt anything would happen except faster developement.

.. The goal of the PlaneShift project is to make a game without money,, if you want to give money to them so bad, read the Important: Donations thread.. it\'s there for a reason

Why would someone work for free when the person next to him is getting paid? It would be unfair for some developers to get a profit out of their work and for others to remain working for not even one penny a year.

It has been said before, putting money into the equation will only generate trouble. Why don\'t we keep it that way and find alternatives?

If you are so excited about the project and want to see it advancing faster, why don\'t you volunteer yourself or, if you feel you do not have any talent that would be of any use to the team, then seek artists that may be interested in the game, potential developers. Or advertise PlaneShift in your site, send links to buddies, spread the word!

Unless, Golbez, such money was dispersed equally in the form of software... ;)
(ie:none of the devs has [insert useful program here], go buy it for each of them)
