Founding Partner?
« on: January 23, 2004, 12:52:33 am »
I\'m thinking of starting a new guild. I have some concrete ideas of what I\'m looking for, but it\'s not much fun doing all the creating and coming up with all the details by yourself. Besides, with two people there\'ll be more ideas. If you\'re interested, pm me or post here. I\'ll be in touch. I\'m not going to post ideas, because I don\'t want anyone stealing them, it\'s not that they\'re so genius, it\'s just that I want this guild to be unique, soo...

I don\'t think anyone will steal them if you post them.... and it might help you to find the second founder. at least alignment maybe?

I know, lol, I was thinking about that and it was annoying me, \'cause I though, \"How the heck is anyone gonna know whether or not they wanna partner when they don\'t have the first clue about my ideas.

Ok, I\'m not sure of the alignment yet, since I\'m not sure what exact alignments there are, but it will definitely be leaning toward the \"good\" side. Basically, the skeleton idea is this, a tight-knit clan of well-chosen members willing to do just about anything for each other. Very much concerned with each other and working as a team. Very much a \"brotherhood\" idea, more than just a \"guild.\"

There are several threads on alignments, already; you should try a search, but it rarely works. :/

No, I wouldn\'t say so. There\'s is more of a Knights of the Round Table, or City Gaurd kind of organization. This would be, well, less noble and open. Kind of like a \"good\" mafia. We would have some mercenary traits, but not completely. We would be dominated by more warlike characters, but again, not completely. We would be small, or, if not small, at least elite, with the recruits having to go through some kind of test to decide their abilities and perhaps a vote. The Defenders kinda gives me a vision of a bunch of strong fighters who don\'t necessarily excel in intelligence, whereas shrewdness and sharpness would have a lot to do with us.

You could take some ideas from other guilds... as long as you dont steel their main idea i guess thats ok...

Q: How many Planeshifters does it take to expalin a simple concept to a newb?
A: Six. Five to argue on who\'s explanation is right, and Moogie to lock the thread.

Maybe, like I said, I couldn\'t find a place that explains all the alignments, so I don\'t know for sure.

What did you mean with that about paladins and mages?

Well son I\'ll tell you what. Drop the \"Good\" from the good Mafia and you\'ll be a guild after my own heart. Plus policing can be done by corrupt people yet they can be loyal to each other. Do that and I\'ll ensure you the post of town police once we have broken PS in. It\'ll be mutually beneficial. We get a mafia to do some of our dirty work and you get to live and prosper. Its a fair deal.

Auran. No More.

Lol, I\'m not sure if I want to be cruel to people, but as for some kind of a police force, that might work. \'Course then we\'d have to prove that we\'re competent, and certain guild members might need... convincing... and you wouldn\'t like that. :D Besides, I thought that the Defenders were more like the policemen. Maybe we could be an inter-guild police force. :D And then we could go corrupt and rule all the guilds. Muahahaha. :D No, I\'m just kidding ,don\'t flame me.
Anyway, looks like I\'m gonna have to start work on this guild by myself.
