The best card game...
« on: January 25, 2004, 09:37:04 pm »

Now here are the rules... This game is called Ylakium Style Battle. Now i know the names of the objects are very generic but we can basically insert different weapons in, including wands and magic things... Now here goes.

1. You draw 3 cards from 3 piles. You get one Race card, one armor or robe card, and one weapon card.

2.The race card is your basic stats. Strength and and endurance. In the enduikais case 10 endurance and 5 strength.

3. Now you see your armor card which is in this case 10. You take that 10 points and multiply it to your armor. That gives you 100 Defence points.

4. Now to your weapon card which i may add may be a wand, it doesnt matter. Now the short sword is 5. You multiply that with your strength to give you 25 attack.

5. Now you minus your attack from your defence to give you 75 battle points. Now your opponent draws his. Blah blah blah... and he has 65 battle points. You both put your cards down and the person with the most battle points wins that match. The person who wins gets his opponents cards.

6. you then put those cards you win in your 3 decks. the armor in the armor pile, the race in the race pile etc. Now you keep doing steps 1-5 untill someone has all of the cards.

I am thinking there should be 5 cards in each pile (race armor and weapon) for 5 rounds. This way the game is pretty short. There can be more card in the piles for a longer match but of course there has to be an certain number of cards in each pile. not 4 in one 20 in the other and 2 in the last pile.

Now i must stress this doesnt mean there are only fighters in the game. it really doesnt matter but in the weapons pile there may be wands and robes in the armor pile. It doesnt matter. There can only be 2 players but there can be a sort of double match. a person could join on each side to make a 2 v 2 match. But really it isnt any different except each side combines thier battle points after drawing cards. I am of course again there can be any number of cards in the 3 decks but they must be the same number. EX 5 race cards in the race deck, 5 armor cards in the armor deck and 5 weapon cards in the weapon deck.

Ok last paragraph. the 3 piles will always be seperate. In a pack of cards there are spacers to seperate the 3 decks. Pick a number of cards you want in the decks from each deck. If you want a short game draw 5 from each deck an lay them on the table. If you want a long game draw 30 cards from each deck and lay them on the table.

Pretty simple game right? Enjoy

PS im thinking of making a printable version you can play at home. It will take me a while though to make a bunch of cards. Maybe in planeshift there could be boosters every week for new cards. One week there could be 1 new race card, 1 new armor and a new weapon. If your smart and youve understood this whole post then you know it doesnt matter how many armor race or weapon cards come out each week cus ur drawing the same number for a game anyways.

well heres an idea maybe when you are going to draw a card from each pile you could spread the cards a bit to pic any card from that deck. That way theres some sort of sense your picking your destiny instead of just being handed some random card.

Cool! Its simple and easy to understand, so very good work! I can see it now, people on street cornors playing that game, yes, yes.
No, not luck based, you are the one who makes your deck right? So, the logic tatic would be to have the strongest cards in each deck.

yes you make your own deck but you cant see the cards. the cards are face down when u chose them. so its all up to u but its still kinda luck.

no i especially want to stay away from special cards. just a simple game with limited cards. thats the key to a fun simple addictive game.

Well im thinking of some alternative rules. Here is a collective version. The same rules as the first one except after winning you collect the cards and put them into your deck. You then make the best character you can. basically the game is still decided on what cards you draw from the decks. The objective is the same though, err  i mean get possetion of all the cards. sorry typo...

Honestly, I think your card game would be a much better gambling type card game. Since your game is very much based on probability. I like how you draw three cards from each of three different decks also.
My name is NOT pronounced, \"Kway-per,\" it\'s pronounced \"Kye-per.\"

Yeah i thought that would be a standard with any card game. Gambling should defenally be implemented in this game.
