Installation Problems
« on: January 27, 2004, 07:52:17 pm »
Hi,

I have downloaded all 5 parts of the client installation and I get the following error when I run the reassembler:

C:\\Temp>run_me_first.bat

C:\\Temp>copy /b PSV0.2.010.Part1 + PSV0.2.0
010.Part4 + PSV0.2.010.Part5 PlaneShiftV0.2
The system cannot find the file specified.

Any ideas?

Cheers :)

A. You didn\'t download it.
or B. It wasn\'t downloaded correctly. (You can check it somehow i believe, but i dunno how) Try downloading the part again that gives the problem.

Erm, yes I have download all 5 files + the reassembler. Is this a case of corrupted download files then? Is it possible to tell which part I need to download again?

They have to be in the same folder.

Yes, use the MD5 tool on the download section

I am having this same problem, I re-downloaded the files and the same thing happens the error occurs:

\"NSIS ERROR

Installer incorrupt or incomplete.

This could be the result of a failed download or corruption from a virus.

If desperate, try the /NCRC command line switch
(NOT recommended)\"

and i tried the md5sum application it just opens then closes with nothing in the window but a blank black screen (how do you use it?)

anyone know what the problem could be? thx
EDIT: nvm i think i didnt let the reassembler finish lol dummy > me

concerning the md5 tool:
basically all you have to do is to put it into the same directory you downloaded the PlaneShift parts in. Then run a command line, change to the directory and execute:

md5sum *.*

The program will output the md5 checksums for all files. Now compare the values to those listed at the bottom of http://www.planeshift.it/download.html. If the value for a file differs from the given one, re-download the part, execute the batch-file again and start the .exe that is created. :)

The internet is "the terrorists'" most important weapon, they say.
Wrong.
Fear is their most important weapon.
Ours is our freedom.
