Seasonal Changes
« on: January 28, 2004, 12:53:53 am »
I strongly believe that seasonal changes should be added.

Spring- After a long time cooling off, the Azure Sun starts to heat up again.

Summer- The Azure Sun is emitting low power.

Fall- The Azure Sun is starting too cool off.

Winter- The Azure Sun is burning at minimal energy.

-rotates again-

Also it\'d be cool if there were only some stuff you could get during certain seasons. For example:

Winter- Winter Wolves that have white fur, that can only be gotten when the wolves fur turns white during winter and has special protective effects against water and ice.

Spring- Spring\'s Tears a flower that has powerful curing abilities, which only live a short time when there is a correct amount of heat and light just long enough for the flower to survive. Therefore only making the flower live for a very short time in the Spring Season.

Summer- Aeson Crystals rare pebbles of pink sand on beaches that slowly metamorphisize into crystals of pure energy due to the nature of the Azure Sun bombarding it with extremely high levels of energy during this season.

Fall- Thuto Leaves, leaves that fall off of a Thuto tree. The leaves turn very hard and can be forged to make weapons. Even the best Yliakum Scientists have not figured out why the leaves do this.

Blah blah, on and on.

i htink that seasonal changes would be great...you could have quests that are only avaliable at specific seasons

like a wizard cursed a town so that a group of snow giants attacks them at the start of every winter.  so the leader of the town asks you to kill the giants and lift the curse (before you flame me i know that snow giants will not likely be in the game its just an example)

i think that seasons would open up all kinds of possibilities like that

Death is but a door. Time is but a window.

how come you don\'t like Fall and Winter? Is it because its too gloomy and it\'s usually the time of the year where people with no homes reflect upon their past to see that one little glimpse of hope they cherish everyday of their lives?

http://www.planeshift.it/setting_overview.html
Streams and Lakes

[...]The flow of the streams varies as times goes by, and the level of the lake changes accordingly. Sometimes the lake level is so low that almost half of the seventh level is revealed, but other times the level is so high it almost reaches the edge of the sixth level.[...]

Measuring Time

[...]The names of the six periods that divide each of the four seasons are carved on this band, and information about the periods is engraved over the level reports.

The year is subdivided into four seasons only because of the cultural heritage of the people coming from the surface and the observation of the cyclic phenomena of vegetable growth. During the twenty-four periods of the year, the Crystal\'s azure light varies marginally, helping to reinforce the different periods.

You guys should read the Setting before you post...

Personally, I hate all seasons.
Why can\'t the weather always stay 23C? (just a bit below room temprature, for you fahrenheit weirdos)
Rain sucks, but so does sun. Belive me, I know.
