The key to manipulative bargaining is to ask for something twice as big as what you want, then smile and nod when you are talked down to your original wish. You are still young, my apprentice, and have much to learn in the ways of the force. -UtM

Well, should explain itself.

Where did I get this crazy idea anyway?  Well, I was playing cards quite a bit with some friends of mine while I was traveling, and I didn\'t have my own deck, so I got out the duct-tape and made one.  (with only two suits mind you, but I was too lazy to finish it.)

cool! so you have a sci-fi backstory like mine, awesome!
You need to work on your eyes, they seem to take away from the feeling of your drawings

I must comment on your style.  A few minor problems with proportions here and there, hands need improvement upon - but overall I think it is pretty good.

You did a nice job on that chain in the flail... drawing chains seems to be the one thing I have the most trouble with =(

that is very nice, except, the torso should come to be thinner near the bottom, instead straight.

kinda like a \"V\" except not so angular. not only does this ad to the realism of the drawing, but it also makes it more sexy :)

Farewell Moogie, Farewell Draklar, Farewell Drey. you will be missed.

More art!  I really should finish my drawings. :P

Wisekran: It\'s part of the uniform design.

Look at the upper left-hand corner.  It\'s the Queen of Spades, therefore, female.
No comments on the new stuff?

Nice art Monketh, I like your style.

That new one is my favorite, although it is odd that some parts of him are covered by blue (I\'m sure it is intentional, can you explain?). The proportions are excellent (eyes are in the middle of his head).

I\'m glad to see a fellow GIMP user although I\'ve only been using The GIMP for about month. I can see that your (smooth) shading needs some work. I use a Wacom tablet (4x5 in. Graphire2, cost me ~$100) to get smooth shading, with the airbrush tool. It helps immensely. I\'m not sure about the options available without a tablet, though. Maybe you just prefer line-art? It is a unique style, but it must take awhile to do. And don\'t be afraid to use Filters in your art. There are some really useful ones that can create texture to make it more interesting.

Post more art! :D

The dude in the last picture is...
Monketh, in his Earth Forces uniform.

Thank you for your criticisms.
The blue is a kind of steam/water vapor bit.

About smooth shading, I think I\'ll just have to make a bigger brush, or apply a blur.
